Thermoguard Asbestos Encapsulating Smoke & Flame Retardant

Thermoguard Asbestos Encapsulating Coating is a smoke and flame retardant coating that seals rigid, sound asbestos in locations within buildings which are not subject to mechanical damage, concealed or are difficult to access.

The sealer coating is based on a highly adhesive resin that is highly plasticized for high flexibility to withstand normal movement within a building. It incorporates flame retardant, smoke, and flaming droplet suppressing compounds.

• Available in pack sizes of 12 m² and 50 m².
• Compliant with BS EN 13501, B-s1,d0 standards, providing protection against toxic smoke, flaming droplets and flamespread/ insulation.
• Prevents the release of asbestos fibers into the atmosphere by encapsulating them and permanently bonding residual asbestos fibers to surfaces.
• Solvent-free.
• Low odour.

Application:

• Apply two coats. First coat should be thinned 10% with water and applied at 10 m²/L. Second coat should be applied undiluted at 10 m²/L.
• Applied by brush, roller, or low pressure HVLP spray.
• For ease coating inaccessible areas use extension arm on the spray unit or roller on extension pole.
• Ensure a continuous film has been created.
• Ensure surfaces are dry.
• Clean surfaces where practical.
• Avoid application when condensation may form.
