Guidance for specification option:

Horizontal rails

• Horizontal SHG 2540 rails screwed to vertical rails with two screws at each intersection. Two rails for each row of stone panels at spacing shown on drawings. An additional rail provided for the supplementary tests on portrait panels.
• Stone panels fixed to horizontal rails by HGB/ HGBA clips fixed to back of panels with undercut Keil anchors. Four or six fixings per panel.

Vertical rails

• The vertical rails are a series of T-profile sections manufactured from 2.5 mm thick aluminium alloy (grade 6063/T6) to BS EN 12020-1.
• Available in three profile sizes: 50 x 50, 50 x 60 and 50 x 75 mm.
• T rails fixed to helping hand brackets with supplied fasteners from manufacturer.
• T rails are also available in stainless steel.
• Bespoke sizes available.

Helping hands brackets:

• Wall brackets are 5 mm thick, L-shaped and manufactured from 2.5 mm thick aluminium alloy ally (grade 6063/T6) to BS EN 12020-1.
• The aluminium brackets are available in either 80 or 160 mm heights by 60 mm wide and in ten leg lengths of 50, 62, 76, 95, 130, 170, 190, 210, 250 or 290 mm to accommodate various cavity widths.
• The brackets supporting the vertical sub-frame incorporate a thermal isolation pad and are mechanically fixed to the substrate. Helping hand brackets and thermal pads are to be fixed with to primary structure with fastener supplied by others.
• Brackets are also available in stainless steel.

Mesh backing bonded to back face of panels. The mesh backing helps to retain the stone in position if it is damaged.

Tested at 120 Nm (serviceability), 350 Nm (safety) and 500 Nm (safety).

• Landscape panels (meshed): Class 1 (120 Nm); negligible risk (350 Nm); negligible risk (500 Nm).
• Landscape panels (unmeshed): Class 1 (120 Nm); negligible risk (350 Nm); negligible risk (500 Nm).
• Portrait panels, non standard fixing spacing (meshed), layout A: Class 1 (120 Nm).
• Portrait panels, non standard fixing spacing (unmeshed), layout A: Class 1 (120 Nm).
• Portrait panels standard fixing spacing (unmeshed), layout B: Class 1 (120 Nm); moderate risk (350 Nm); High risk (500 Nm).
• Portrait panels with additional rail support rail at mid height (unmeshed), layout C: Class 1 (120 Nm); negligible risk (350 Nm); negligible risk (500 Nm).
• Portrait panels with additional rail support rail at mid height and fixing clips (unmeshed), layout C: Class 1 (120 Nm); negligible risk (350 Nm); negligible risk (500 Nm).

Guidance for specification option:

Panel with mesh backing:

• At 3 Nm: Class 1 (serviceability), negligible risk (safety/ risk).
• At 6 Nm: Class 1 (serviceability), negligible risk (safety/ risk).
• At 10 Nm: Class 1 (serviceability), negligible risk (safety/ risk).

Panels without mesh backing:

• At 3 Nm: Class 1 (serviceability), negligible risk (safety/ risk).
• At 6 Nm: Class 1 (serviceability), negligible risk (safety/ risk).
• At 10 Nm: Class 4 (serviceability), high risk (safety/ risk).
