Application

Suitable for profiled metal deck applications and other deck types which provide sufficient anchorage for mechanical attachment.

Description

The RubberGard™ EPDM RMA System is a lightweight, non-penetrating mechanically attached system developed around the QuickSeam™ RMA strip: a strip of reinforced EPDM membrane incorporating two strips of self-adhesive QuickSeam™ Splice Tape laminated along each edge over the length of the strip.

Preparation

Horizontal work

The substrate will be securely fixed, clean, dry, smooth and free of contaminants such as greases, animal fats, coal tar and oil-based products. All sharp edges, nibs and rough surfaces which could damage the membrane will be removed or otherwise isolated.

Use where insulation layer is to be mechanically attached through the AVCL (low humidity class buildings only). Loose laid over the approved substrate, joints are taped using V-Gard PE Seam Tape.

ISOGARD MG PIR Insulation.

Guidance for specification option:

Thermal conductivity: 0.025–0.028 W/m.K.

Thickness: 30–160 mm. Insert requirements.

100% cured non-reinforced, Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) synthetic rubber, manufactured in an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 registered facility. Minimum unspliced width of 3.05 m.

QuickSeam RMA strip.

Guidance for specification option:

Secured to the steel deck using approved plates/batten bars and fasteners. Spacing of the plates and/or fasteners differs to accommodate for wind loadings and are positioned according to the parameters of the wind load calculation based on local or international standards.

Guidance for specification option:

760 x 760 mm high quality rubber pads with QuickSeam Tape factory laminated to the bottom. They are used for protection of the Elevate RubberGard EPDM membrane in areas of regular roof traffic (periodical maintenance around mechanical equipment, access doors, etc.).

An appropriate metal edge trim will be prefabricated and installed with fasteners @ maximum 100 mm centres. The edge trim will be sealed with QuickSeam Flashing.
