Description

The Pyrobel range of fire-resistant glasses are tested and approved according to BS 476-22:1987 and EN 13501-2, on both integrity and insulation criteria. Pyrobel is a fully transparent, multi-laminated glass assembled in clear intumescent fire resistant interlayers, available in large sizes, which offers valuable sound reduction properties and complies with the safety requirements of BS 6202/EN 12600. In the event of fire, these interlayers expand at around 120°C and transform into a rigid and opaque shield.


Suitable for multiple applications where fire-resistant glazing is required, including glazed partitions and doors, with double-glazing options available for curtainwall and windows. 


Please note, fire-resistant glazing must always be installed in a framing system where there is an independent certification for the glazing and its intended framing system. Please consult the manufacturer for technical support.


Features and benefits:

  • Clear glass that provides distortion-free vision. It does not incorporate any wire and its light transmission is comparable to clear float glass.

  • Designed for internal vertical glazing applications but can also be supplied as an external grade single or double glazing, incorporating a UV filter, provided that the manufacturer's external glazing instructions are respected.
  • Available in special constructions incorporating other manufacturer products such as solar-control, low emissivity, patterned or tinted glass.
  • Available in rectangular, rectilinear or curvilinear shapes.
  • Can be cut to size from stock and its readily available from accredited Pyrobel stockists.
  • Can be easily fitted into most fire screens and doors.
