Description

A three component, ultra fast-drying and durable intumescent coating designed to give the shortest possible time from application to handling for fire resistance periods up to two hours.

Can be handled in as little as one hour while providing a highly durable and aesthetically pleasing finish.

The cured paint film is durable, damage resistant and can be exposed to the weather after four hours at minimum 15°C.

Several primers have been approved for use under this product. Consult manufacturer for details and insert requirements.

Must not be applied directly to galvanized steel and zinc rich primers.

Top coat

Required.

Guidance for specification option:

  • If it can be guaranteed that application and subsequent in-service conditions will be in a C1 environment as defined in BS EN ISO12944-2:2017, then no topcoat is required.
  • For any other situation a topcoat must be applied, consult manufacturer for advice and insert requirements.

Application method

Specialised Plural Component Airless Spray.
Brush or roller for small repair areas or stripe coat.

Coverage

Theoretical (airless spray): 0.34 m²/kg (0.5 m²/L).

Drying time

At +10°C: to touch: 2 hours; to handle: 3 hours; to recoat: 2½ hours.
At +15°C: to touch: 1 hour; to handle: 2 hours; to recoat: 1½ hours.
At +23°C: to touch: 45 minutes; to handle: 1 hour; to recoat: 1 hour.

Flash point

Base: 10°C; hardener (additive): 10°C.
