Description

The BBA certified Corium brick cladding system can be used on a new build or refurbishment. Corium is a tried and tested brick slip cladding system with main components that are “class A1 as defined by the National Building Regulations”.


If installed, used and maintained in accordance with the stipulations set out in the BBA certificate, Corium “can satisfy or contribute to satisfying the relevant requirements in the relation to NHBC Standards, Part 6 Superstructure (excluding roofs), Chapter 6.9 Curtain walling and cladding.


Features and benefits:

  • Over 2,500 brick tile finishes available with a range of colours and textures.
  • Unique colour blends tailored to specific project designs.
  • Variable tile height options of 50 mm, 65 mm, 140 mm and 215 mm.
  • A horizontal or vertical brick cladding wall appearance is achievable alongside soffits and around windows.
  • The cladding panels have a design life in excess of 35 years in accordance with section 10 of the BBA certificate.
  • There is no build limit with installations on projects in the UK up to 28 storeys as per section 6.2 of the BBA certificate - due consideration should still be given to the full certificate prior to design.
  • BBA approved and certified (19/5693).
  • Fire tested and approved in accordance with EN 13501-1 2007 + A1:2009. Test available on request
  • CWCT TN 76 - test methods for systemised building envelopes.
  • BRE - wind suction testing for European assessment document.
  • Corium tiles are produced as a finished product, using on average 75% less material than traditional brick.
  • Magnelis rails that tiles clip into do not contain any harmful elements and holds a full Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) compliant to EN 10346: 2015.
  • Magnelis rails reduce zinc runoff into soil compared to standard galvanized steel and is 100% recyclable.
  • System can be installed four times faster than traditional brickwork, reducing time required on site.

  • 0.7 mm thick Magnelis metallic coated steel (ZM 310 and ZM 430).
  • Coated with a zinc-aluminium-magnesium alloy, manufactured to BS EN 10346 : 2015.
  • The coating for Magnelis ZM 310 and ZM 430 steel is applied on both sides and is composed of zinc, 3.5% aluminium, 3% magnesium, with a coating weight of 310 and 430 g·m‾², and coating thicknesses of 25 and 35 μm respectively.

  • To allow for horizontal movement, vertical expansion joints should be provided through tile, mortar and steel backing sections at a maximum of 12 m centres in the brick tile cladding.
  • Horizontal expansion joints to allow for vertical movement should be provided at maximum 9 m centres.
  • Joints should coincide with movement joints in the substrate wall and allow for the same degree of movement (see section 4.7 of the BBA Certificate).
