Application

Specifically designed for use against marble, granite, pre-cast concrete and other sensitive natural or manmade substrates where other sealants may cause staining.


Also recommended for sealing perimeter floor joints, un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-u) and aluminium window frames and many other common construction applications. 


It is not recommended for overpainting, or for use in floor joints over 6 mm wide.


Adhesion and/ or compatibility testing may be required on certain substrates. Not recommended for overpainting and use with laminated glass.

Description

One part, non-staining, low modulus, neutral cure silicone sealant.


Features and benefits:

  • Cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form an elastic silicone rubber.

2 mm/ 24 h (at 20°C, 65% RH).

(Skin time: 8 minutes).

Joint size

Joint width: 6 mm (minimum); 25 mm (maximum); 50 mm (multiple applications).
Joint depth: 10 mm (minimum, porous substrates); 6 mm (minimum, non-porous substrates); 15 mm (maximum).

Guidance for specification option:

Width: Depth ratio (within above min/ max restrictions):

  • 2:1 butt joints. 
  • 1:1 lap joints. 

Backing

Appropriate joint filler e.g. closed cell polyurethane foam, should be used to provide the correct joint depth.

Guidance for specification option:

All joint preparation, priming, and sealant application should be carried out in accordance with BS 8000.
