Newton Specialist Contractor Arti Structural Waterproofing took on the required waterproofing of 59 concrete balconies as part of the Wandsworth regeneration programme to increase the number of affordable homes. The products used for the waterproofing also required a minimum fire rating of A2-s1-d0, tested to BS EN 13501-1. Newton 103-S carried the required fire rating and can resist extremely high positive and negative water pressure, forming a hard and durable coating with a degree of elasticity, making it ideal for protecting concrete. Arti delivered a quick, efficient and thorough installation to the site.

Waterproofing this historic London landmark - external waterproofing with Newton 403 HydroBond, internal waterproofing with Newton System 500, installed by Newton Specialist Basement Contractor MacLennanUK. Externally, Newton’s innovative ‘Type A’ 403 HydroBond membrane was applied extensively to ensure the necessary waterproofing around the basement, whilst internally, Newton 508 and Newton 520 membranes were both applied from floor to ceiling as part of Newton’s complete System 500 cavity drainage solution.

When a listed commercial basement in Temple Fortune was being transformed into a new community centre, Newton Specialist Contractor Arti Construction undertook the waterproofing. The basement is part of a four-storey Listed building that was built into the hillside, meaning three of the walls were either fully or partially below-ground and suffering from water penetration. Arti recommended the Newton CDM System, as it is the most safe and reliable form of waterproofing that would deliver a completely dry internal space and cause the minimal amount of disruption to the Listed structure.

Newton Specialist Contractors ASF Waterproofing were called in to investigate why the Bridge Master's Quarters at One Tower Bridge was suffering from damp and proceeded to install multiple Newton products to resolve the issue. ASF installed a new internal damp proof course by injecting Newton 804-DPC into the walls, then sealing with Newton 313-WP, before quickly and easily spraying Newton 103-S as a final barrier to water. Externally, the walls were thoroughly waterproofed with four coats of the flexible, resilient Newton 109-LM. For complete protection, the waterproofing began 1-metre below ground level.

At this new-build shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush, West London, the new underground car park was experiencing high levels of water ingress through two movement joints that had failed. This Thames property originally had a wet dock but this had been back filled and capped with a concrete floor. The client wished to use the ground floor as a bedroom, but during a recent flood the water level reached 500mm internally. Newton System 500 provided the ideal solution, by redirecting the water, rather than trying to hold water back – impossible under such pressurised conditions. Newton 508 Mesh was chosen for the walls, Newton 520 to the floor with a Newton Basedrain ring around the perimeter. Two Newton Titan Pro pump systems were used, including a battery back-up system

Principal Contractor, Mace Group, appointed Newton Specialist Contractor Cast Contracting Ltd (CCL) to design and install the waterproofing to the Marshall Building of the London School of Economics. CCL recommended the Type C Newton CDM System as it is the safest and most reliable form of waterproofing. CCL prepared the extensive two-storey basement with Newton 906 Lime Inhibtor and Newton 103-S before installing over 2,250m2 of Newton 520 eco membrane to the floor and over 570m2 of Newton 508 membrane to create the Newton CDM System.

A young couple building their dream first home - and filmed by Channel 4’s Grand Designs - fell foul of rogue contractors when their site became a basement disaster. Excavations performed contrary to the Structural Engineer’s instructions resulted in the banks falling in beneath the street, whilst the shutters burst inwards under the weight of the compacted concrete. When the site was left in this condition, Newton recommended MJ Rooney to take on one of the trickiest challenges in their 30 years.

Internally and externally waterproofing the below-ground developments of the extended Christian Dior store on New Bond Street, with Newton 403 HydroBond, Newton 107F and Newton System 500. The property line construction between two existing buildings meant that there was a requirement for waterproofing both new and existing structural elements, including pile caps, underpinning, a new reinforced concrete slab, the existing foundations, and also existing vaulted areas at the front of the building which extend below New Bond Street.

The project, spanning across five levels, was for major renovations to the college that saw advanced acoustic, air handling and climate control measures incorporated into the building. Warwick Court, the former Goldman Sach's headquarters on Paternoster Square in London, is being redeveloped by Mace Group after they won the £60m project in 2020. Newton Specialist Contractor ASF Waterproofing specified a waterproof and hard-wearing coating system for the floor of the plant rooms. As a result, ASF Waterproofing designed and installed a watertight system utilising Newton 110 WATstop and Newton 701-HB. ASF Waterproofing provided a completely watertight solution following the guidelines set out in BS 9102:2009. The works were carried out to a high standard and delivered on time, despite the tight schedule.

Heavy rainfall on the Orkney Islands meant that the basement room of Kirkwall Air Traffic Control Tower suffered from frequent flooding, with water levels reaching 1.2m at their highest point. As part of their ongoing relationship with the Imperial College London, Newton Specialist Contractor A.P. Gooch was tasked with assessing and waterproofing 11 historic Victorian brick vaults beneath the streets of Kensington, London, after the existing competitor ‘waterproof render’ had failed. Following a full assessment of the vaults, A.P. Gooch decided that the best option was to install the tried and tested ‘failsafe’ Newton System 500 cavity drainage membrane solution in order to depressurise, capture and safely manage ingressing water away from the building.

This new build multi residential and commercial development in Earls Court, London will eventually stretch from Chelsea football ground to Kensington Olympia and comprises of over 800 multi-million pound luxury apartments, townhouses and penthouse suites, as well as London’s largest private residents’ club – 18,000 sq. ft of space including a lounge, library, private dining room, cinema, gym, spa facilities and 20 metre swimming pool with jacuzzi. Lillie Square Phase 1 required the formation of a water tight basement to house the residents club, Stonehouse Property Care joined the design team and provided a guaranteed waterproofing solution.

Newton Specialist Contractor Cast Contracting Ltd (CCL) took on the waterproofing at the large Mace Group project at the world-renowned London School of Economics. The project is an extensive, two-storey, mixed-use basement that will house plant areas, squash courts, changing facilities and a sports hall, covering a total of over 2,250m2 of floorspace. CCL recommended the Newton CDM System as it is the safest and most reliable form of waterproofing. Despite requiring dedicated delivery slots and and working to an extremely tight program of work, CCL completed the project well within the time limit.
