1 Finsbury Avenue

Constructed in the early 80s by Arup Associates, 1 Finsbury Avenue has been carefully redeveloped as part of its evolution from single occupancy into a mixed-use offering. Behind the grade 2 listed bronze façade, work included the re-establishment of pedestrian access through the ground floor to reconnect the building with Finsbury Avenue Square and the wider neighbourhood. The bright, bold work of artist Morag Myerscough featured in this lower atrium echoes the lines of the façade. To match the interior aesthetic, black anodised INTRAflow entrance matting was specified for both East and West entrances.

10 Brock Street

As the centrepiece to British Land’s regeneration of Regents Place, 10 Brock Street is a distinctive 16 storey, 320,000 sq ft landmark office development in the heart of London. Completed in 2013, the building achieved the coveted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating thanks to a number of features, including rainwater harvesting system and combined heat and power systems. British Land’s property management company, Broadgate Estates, approached INTRAsystems to remove and replace the three entrance mats at the front and rear entranceways. Find out more

Formerly home to the Margolin gramophone Factory, 112 old street has been fully redeveloped to provide an expansive 27,000sq ft office space. Retaining its original, elegant Victorian façade, it has been fully redeveloped and is split over five floors offering the perfect balance of flexibility and style. Such a building deserves the best Entrance to create a lasting impression on all visitors of the building. 201 Bishopgate

201 Bishopgate is a well-known landmark and part of the Broadgate Estates portfolio. INTRAsystems installed the INTRAflex high performance Entrance Matting when the building was originally built, and were pleased to also install the replacement matting in early 2014. Effective removal of dirt and moisture is essential to the building, helping ensure protection of the existing floor coverings and safety for every visitor. The INTRAflex XT Entrance Matting was installed to the shaped Main Entrance matwell (faceted matting panels to suit the curved building façade) and to the trapezium shaped rear entrance.

24-25 Grosvenor Street in Mayfair offers high-quality office space. Having been completely reconstructed behind its imposing double fronted period façade in the 1980’s, the building underwent a major back-to-frame refurbishment in 2018 to modernise the space. With two entrances to work with, the contractor needed a high-quality entrance matting system that would befit its location, whilst also providing superior performance from a relatively small area of matting. Two bespoke entrance designs were created to complement the aesthetics using INTRAdisc bronze capsules and INTRAform Double Module cut directly into the ceramic flooring.


Three Pancras Square is a Grade A office building located at the corner of King’s Boulevard and Goods Way. The building is part of a two million sq ft cluster of 12 office buildings south of the Canal. Six tube lines, two mainline stations and Eurostar are within a two-minute walk. Working with the architect we helped them in specifying the our flagship INTRAflex XT Entrance Matting. We chose a design that would blend in well with the buildings character and add tremendous aesthetic value.

4 Cannon Street

Nestled between listed buildings in the heart of London with views over St Paul’s, this 108,000 sq ft cutting-edge office building was designed for maximum sustainability. In designing the building, PLP Architecture was mindful that their spatial and material approach should also be directly informed by these prestigious adjacencies. With sustainability and heritage at the forefront of the design, we worked with Aedas Architects, to specify INTRAform Double Module Entrance Matting with a bronze anodised finish and anthracite fibre insert for the 10,000 sq ft grand entrance. 6 More London

6 More London Place is a striking six-story office building clad in red and steel located on the More London development at London Bridge City. Designed by Foster and Partners the building is occupied by the likes of, Ernst & Young, Kantar and TNS. There are also five retail units occupied by Cafè Nero, EAT, Leon, M&S Simply Food and much more. INTRAsystems worked with the client in installing our INTRAform Drainable Entrance Matting system which not only addresses the aesthetics of the building and safety of its occupants but also helps in keeping the cleaning costs down

Abbey Wood Station

Abbey Wood station is a recent development delivered by Network Rail as part of the Crossrail Project. The striking new station building, and concourse marks the start of the transformation of transport links from Abbey Wood to travel right through central London to Paddington. Keeping this influx of passenger safe is the job of INTRAsystems Entrance Matting System. Specifically, the INTRAform DM system with the highly durable FR insert to withstand all weather conditions, comply with all regulations and resist heavy to extreme foot/wheeled traffic. Aldgate Tower

Completed in 2014, the 317,000 sq ft, 18-storey Aldgate Tower is home to some of the “world’s most pioneering companies” including WeWork, Uber and Groupon. Located on the corner of Whitechapel High Street and Commercial Street, Aldgate Tower is no normal office. The 16 floors of Grade A office space above are 100% let to high profile tenants so the entrance must work hard to ensure the reception maintains its aesthetic appeal. Having opened its first UK store in Birmingham in 1990, Aldi has grown to over 800 stores nationwide. The supermarket chain has opened a new ‘local’ in Camden and converted a further 6 stores to the ‘local’ format. For its newest ‘Local’, Aldi specified INTRAflow Plus with hard wearing ribbed rubber and INTRAlux Elite inserts in anthracite to provide a flexible, durable, yet cost effective solution. INTRAflow Plus can be used in both Zone 1 external and Zone 2 internal areas, making it a perfect choice for busy supermarkets with automatic doors that frequently open to the elements.


Originally built by John Johnson and Alfred Meeson as a public recreation and entertainment centre, ‘The People’s Palace’ first opened to great public fanfare on Queen Victoria’s birthday in 1873 but burnt down 16 days later. With typical Victorian spirit, work quickly began on a new Palace, designed by Johnson, which opened in 1875. Maida Vale Studios is a complex of seven BBC sound studios of which five are in regular use. Since its launch in 1934, the studio has been used to record thousands of classical music, and dramas for popular radio channels such as BBC Radio 1/2/3 etc. It has also been the home to BBC Symphony Orchestra. Installing recessed Matting at the Entrance of the BBC Studios a great way to sustain the life of the flooring beyond therefore improving the aesthetics of the interior and enhancing the building.


The Blavatnik School of Government is a global school pursuing a vision of a world better led, a world better served and a world better governed. It is one of the newest and most vibrant departments of the University of Oxford. The school was founded in 2010, thanks to a £75 million donation by American philanthropist Leonard Blavatnik. Dr Gunther von Hagens’ renowned exhibition of real human bodies is the most successful travelling exhibition in the world. On display since 1995, it has attracted more than 47 million visitors in over 130 different cities across America, Africa, Asia and Europe. With its worldwide popularity and central London location, the venue expects significant annual footfall which means a robust entrance matting system is essential to maintain the safety and aesthetics of the reception. To combat dirt and moisture at the door, our flagship INTRAflex XT Entrance Matting system was combined with the popular INTRAlux Elite Anthracite 607 Fibre insert.


Having the right entrance matting to keep these shopper’s safe from slips and trips was a paramount requirement INTRAsystems proposed only the best and the most durable Entrance Matting option for Boots Piccadilly – INTRAform Matting. Bracken House

Completed in 1958, Bracken House was built as the headquarters and printworks of the Financial Times – the Hollington Staffordshire pink sandstone cladding cleverly matching the newspaper’s distinctive salmon pink pages. John Robertson Architects has since undertaken a sensitive renovation to create a space for the 21st century whilst reconciling the two architectural styles. The entrance matting has been carefully considered as part of the project, featuring a combination of profiles and inserts to create a zonal system that harmonises with the building’s aesthetics. Brent Civic Centre

Designed by Hopkins Architects, Brent Civic Centre was constructed in 2013 as part of a major modernisation and centralisation initiative. It was the first public building to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating to make it the most sustainable building of its kind in the UK. Housing Brent’s civic, public and administrative functions, including community hall, library and civic chamber, alongside retail space and landscaped gardens, the 40,000 m² building provides a modern hub for the local community. Brighton i360

The design and engineering of British Airways i360 is as impressive as it is innovative. Such an innovative attraction needs to stay attractive whilst maintaining safety of its tourists. Did you know that 90% of slip accidents occur on wet or contaminated floors? By not effectively trapping dirt, cleaning costs can skyrocket to £600-£1000 per kg of soil removed. This can often lead to a reception that is unattractive. At INTRAsystems we have always believed that Entrance Matting is the first line of defence in preventing the ingress of dirt and moisture into the building.

Cambridge Satchel Company

The Cambridge Satchel Company was founded in 2008 in England by Julie Deane and her mother Freda. She had been looking for a durable and timeless schoolbag for her children, starting with £600 and growing to £13m turnover, the company manufactured well over 3000 bags per week (The Guardian). What better location to host such a brand than Bicester Village which is hailed as the ultimate shopping destination. Situated in the heart of the City of London, this high-profile installation combines INTRAform DM with a mix of ribbed rubber and INTRAlux Linear inserts, that works perfectly alongside the minimal white aesthetics of the lobby. Located in the heart of Brighton and only a 10 min walk from the station, Churchill Square Shopping Centre is home to over 100 shops, restaurants and cafes all under one roof. It is open 7 days a week and has all the conveniences a new shopping centre should have. We consulted the management of Churchill Square Shopping Centre in installing heavy duty recessed Entrance Matting to tackle this issue head on! City Hall is part of the More London Development located between world famous London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the south bank of the river Thames. Euston Station

Euston station officially opened on 20th July 1837, becoming London’s first inter-city train station. Following several expansions before the end of the 19th century and a complete rebuild in the 1960s, the station now houses 18 platforms, serving over 71 million people each year. With extreme footfall at three separate entrances, maintaining safety and cleanliness is a considerable challenge, requiring a heavy-duty solution and a zonal approach. Hailed as a biomedical research landmark, the state-of-the-art Francis Crick Institute is located next to St Pancras Station and was designed by HOK / PLP Architecture. Hard Rock Hotel

The Hard Rock brand attracts tourists from around the world to its global network of restaurants and hotels. Founded in London in 1971, Hard Rock returned to London in April 2019, with the opening of its first-ever UK hotel. Scott Brownrigg was ‘appointed to consider the primary entrance and ground floor guest experience’, selecting INTRAsystems entrance matting for the three ground floor entrances. Intu derby is a large shopping centre located in the heart of Derby. Home to over 200 stores, shoppers are sure to find what they are looking for. The centre plays an important role in adding to the vibrancy of Derby city centre and the region, creating a busy hub for its community and tourist industry. Keeping all these shoppers safe is of paramount importance for the centre’s management. As a result, they chose to install the INTRAform DM Heavy Duty Entrance Matting to protect the internal flooring and ensure a clean and safe environment.

INTU Lakeside

INTU Lakeside, in the heart of Essex, is the UK’s first retail and leisure resort. The recent expansion takes the centre to 1.6 million sq ft and is set to increase footfall by more than 2 million p/a. To match our previous installations at INTU Lakeside, three new entrances now utilise our INTRAlink entrance matting system. The entrance mat at INTU Lakeside uses both plain black PVC tiles and fibre tiles with a combination of anthracite and orange fibre inserts. The orange fibre stripes bring in the INTU Group brand to create a striking design feature

The iconic building, owned by The Great Ropemaker Partnership, now provides high quality offices and TV studio space for multiple tenants including ITN, ITV and Channel 4. Kirkstall Forge has carried great historical significance in the city of Leeds. Dating back to the 12th Century its rich heritage includes metal works, iron production and engineering, and once the canal and railway arrived, Kirkstall Forge became a key site in the industrial revolution. Merceded-Benz Stockport

Opened in July 2019, Mercedes Stockport is the largest Mercedes showroom in Europe, with the capacity to showcase 140 of its finest cars in addition to a dedicated AMG suite and further capacity for 100 used vehicles. From Formula 1 simulators, biophilic wall and calming water feature to the dedicated customer bar, ATA Design has carefully considered the interior décor of the showroom to ensure the customer experience is synonymous with the aspirational Mercedes brand. nhow Hotel

nhow London, located in Shoreditch, is part of the 250 City Road development, designed by Foster + Partners. Run-of-the-mill entrance matting was not an option for this brand. Their disruptive design approach creates iconic interior décor inspired by their location. The space functions as both a hotel and a creative hub, designed to pay ‘tribute to both the city’s industrial past and its tech-filled future’. With exquisite attention to detail, EPR architects consulted with the team to create an entrance matting design that would embrace the creative brief.
