The iconic 1930’s Heal’s department store on Tottenham Court Road was bought by General Projects, with particular spaces fitted out by Conamar to be let as offices. The project was sensitively refurbished throughout with a nod to the building’s Art Deco heritage, as well as its previous usage in housing upholstery and mattresses. We supplied circa 40 timber internal doors with a mix of FD30, FD60 and FD90 fire rated doors. The doors were supplied fully painted in Pure White (RAL 9010) with primed frames. Most of the doors had a 30dB acoustic rating and were prepped to receive free-issue hinges, while a small number of 40dB doorsets were supplied as pre-hung sets with lift-off hinges.Where vision panels were required, we supplied a flush glazing bead detail for all but the 40db and FD90 doors, which featured a bolection bead. The bespoke design of the doors called for a rebated frame. A specific frame allowance was required for some doors to allow for concealed door closers, to complement the 1930s décor.
