Application

Designed for metal profile roofs where safe access for personnel crossing or working on a roof surface is required. It has been engineered as a system that can fit to the majority of roof profiles. 


Suitable roof covering types including:

  • Standing seam.
  • Composite panel.
  • Secret fix roofing.
  • Built-up on site metal roofing.
  • Single ply membrane. 

Description

The Ascent™ aluminium walkway for metal profile roofs is a standardized, modular system allowing the design of anti-slip compliant walkways for access on all major metal profile roofing systems. The walkway is affixed to the standing seam roof via non-penetrative standing seam clamps and creates a level free-draining surface which both protects the roof from foot traffic and where fitted with guardrail, provides collective protection to the worker. The anti-slip walkway can also be stepped to suit the pitch of the roof to aid passage up a steep roof slope.

  • Designed and tested in accordance with: BS EN 516:2006 Class 1 Type C, meeting all health and safety requirements, BS EN ISO 14122-3:2016 where a handrail is fitted, BS 4592-0:2006+A1:2012 for loadbearing, and BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013 for anti-slip.


Components:

  • Walkway panel: Aluminium grillage, open beam 34.10/25 walkway system – 2000 x 600 mm, mill finish.
  • Levelling components: Ascent aluminium levelling components.
  • Framework: Aluminium grillage, open beam 34.10/25 walkway – 2000 x 600 mm, mill finish.
  • Handrail: Aluminium top rail, mid rail, uprights, plastic end caps and top caps.
  • Fixing: Affixed to crown of roof sheet via pre-drilled ascent fixing bracket with hi-bond butyl seal pad (to be affixed between roof sheet and bracket). Secured with stainless steel self-drilling screws.
