Suitable for perimeter sealing of fire doors and screens, high movement fire-resistant joints, and fire retardant glazing in conjunction with Arboseal Intumescent Tape.

Description

A one-part, low modulus, fire-resisting silicone sealant, which cures on exposure to moisture vapour to form a very elastic silicone rubber.


Features and benefits:

  • It has good adhesion to concrete, metals, and many other common building substrates.
  • It is not recommended for trafficked floor joints, overpainting, or use against natural stone.
  • Very good UV resistance.
  • Anticipated service life in excess of 25 years.
  • Tested to BS 476 Part 22

2 mm per 24 hours at 20°C and 65% relative humidity.

Chemical resistance

Resistant to most dilute acids and alkalis; organic solvents may cause the sealant to swell and lose adhesion, but do not directly dissolve the sealant.

UV resistance

Very good.

Anticipated service life

25 years+.

Compression strength

Butt joints (movement in tension and compression): 50%.

ShearStrength

Lap joints (movement in shear): 100%.

Joint width

6 mm (minimum single application); 25 mm (maximum single application).

Joint depth:

  • Minimum: 10 mm.
