Kalzip Low U-Value Structural Deck System

Application

For roof applications.

Description

A low U-Value roof system, primarily based on a standard Kalzip standing seam roof build and as such is subject to the same basic set of criteria and properties for materials, finishes, geometries, accessories and components.


The deck system is a variation of the standard liner system. A higher structural grade of steel is used to allow the clip rails to be positioned away from the main steelwork.


To attach clips to the deck, they must be fixed through a channel section, fabricated from 1.6 mm galvanized steel, which sits on the Kalzip insulation 23.


The clip/ channel assembly is fixed to the crowns of the structural deck.


Features and benefits:

  • Cost effective.
  • Provides a technically sound solution for roof U-Values as low as 0.10 W/m²K by combining rigid insulation boards with glass mineral fibre layers.
  • The symbiosis of the two insulation types gives the system its high performance in achieving extremely low U-values, allowing a significantly greater overall thermal resistance to be achieved compared to that of any one single layer of insulation of the same total thickness.

0.8 mm (nominal).

Tolerance on thickness to be +0.05 mm and –0.025 mm. This is a class 2 thickness tolerance as per BS EN 508-2: 2000.
