Sustainability overview

Zip Water – a global leader in sustainable water solutions

As the world’s leading eco-friendly and sustainable provider of premium drinking water, we don’t just understand water. We cherish it. And, as part of Culligan, we now deliver clean, pure-tasting water to more than 100 million global consumers, saving over 500 million kilograms of plastic and 5 billion kilograms of CO2 every year.

For people and planet

For 75 years, we’ve refined our technology to eliminate hazardous substances, impurities, and harmful contaminants from global water supplies, helping more experience water at its best.

Our products have delivered great-tasting water to more than six million homes and 2.5 million offices across the world. As we continue to grow, we’ll make sure we’re doing so in a sustainable way.

Serious about sustainability

In 2022, we released our first sustainability report. Though we’ve been actively reducing our environmental footprint for many years, it represents an important milestone in our ongoing mission by showcasing all we’ve accomplished thus far as well as the ways in which we can improve.

Inspiring a refill revolution

With instant access to delicious and pure-tasting water, we inspire people to refill their cups, glasses, and reusable bottles instead of resorting to single-use drinks bottles. It’s our way of saying so long to single-use plastic.

Every year, our products save over 2 billion single-use plastics from landfill, inspiring us to do even more for people and the planet.

Silver medalists in sustainability

In 2024, the world’s largest provider of ratings for business sustainability, EcoVadis, awarded us with a Silver medal, placing us in the 93rd percentile of all those assessed.

Year-on-year, we’ll endeavour to improve our scorecard across all areas (environment, ethics, labour, and human rights), while developing a Science Based Target for net zero by 2025 and reducing absolute GHG emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 50% before 2030.

How we’re actively reducing our emissions

We’re always striving to cut our carbon footprint. For example, our UK team has converted more than 50% of its fleet to electric vehicles, and we’ll have 100% converted to electric or hybrid by 2027.

From a renewables standpoint, our Condell Park factory’s solar panels generate up to 20% of the energy we need to manufacture Zip products here in Australia. While, in New Zealand, all operations are completely powered by renewable energy.

Our culture

Our people are the reason for our success. We value all of our employees, and we prioritise and celebrate inclusivity, regardless of race, gender, or identity.

We ensure our team thrives in an organisation that’s free from discrimination and poor ethical practice. But that doesn’t just go for our employees. All our suppliers must also adhere to our Supplier Code of Conduct and Modern Slavery Statement.
