Factory visit to demonstrate the LEAN principles of minimising waste in every process in order to add value to products and services. The visit to this floor trim and accessories facility will cover:- The basic principles behind LEAN manufacturing- How these principles can be applied to product design- How LEAN processes can enhance value in production - How attendees companies could apply LEAN principles

The seminar objective is to develop an understanding on how to finish floorcoverings at critical junctions. It extends to cover many internal finish junctions: on stairs, at wall junctions and at door and other junctions/transitions. Understanding the legislative and regulatory framework and correctly specifying flooring accessories to ensure successful and compliant installations. Over three sections, the presentation will highlight the issues involved, background from health, safety and long-term maintenance perspective, the relevant Approved Documents and standards, and how to create appropriate details.

This CPD looks at the guidelines for the specification of a safe stairway. The presentation and discussion deals with the subject of how to make commercial, public or shared stairways safe and meet all current building regulation guidelines. The CPD includes: - What stair nosings are designed to achieve and how to select the right one- Key Legislation and Industry Standards around stairway design- How recent BS, BRE and Equality Act (formerly DDA) guidelines affect specifications- Environmental and Health and Safety considerations- Examples of best practice with specification examplesThe seminar lasts 40-60 minutes.
