The building features a rooftop running track offering panoramic views of the sea, seamlessly connecting with the science and laboratory departments, an auditorium, a double-height sports hall, an internal running track, and a 25-meter swimming pool. The building’s concept is the promotion of social communication, achieved through spacious break-out areas interconnected by open staircases facilitating easy movement between departments.CAT AN15R stair nosings have taken a prominent role in enhancing safety and aesthetics across numerous staircases within Brighton College. These stair nosings feature aluminium castellated ATI49.5 inserts, providing a visually appealing profile while simultaneously ensuring outstanding slip resistance. The materials and design not only defines the step edges, making the more slip resistant and easier to see, but it also aligns with the school’s commitment to safety and functionality. Aluminium stair nosings are a great solution for school, as they are easy to maintain and durable for high footfall.Prior to the implementation of these stair nosings, a CAT survey team member collaborated with the school administration to assess the suitability of the products and understand specific project requirements. This collaborative approach expedited the project’s completion, showcasing the importance of tailored solutions in educational environments.The AN15R stair nosing, a raked-back, single-channel profile,aluminium profile, boasts a variety of infill options and colour choices, including Castellated PVC available in 19 colours or aluminium ATI inserts available in 6 finishes. These nosings are available in bronze, light bronze, mill aluminium, satin aluminium, polished aluminium, or black anodized finishes. They can be custom ordered to precise dimensions, offering flexibility in design and safety integration.Brighton College exemplifies a commitment to providing a safe and enriching educational environment within its modern and architecturally innovative campus. With the world’s first dividing retractable football pitch revealing a synthetic turf pitch underneath for American Football, it can also be used for concerts and other events. Facilities include the longest bar in Europe, a microbrewery, museum and an auditorium.CAT worked very closely with F3 Architects to understand their vision for the redevelopment and offer solutions to the different transition areas bringing the interiors to life.

Its stunning architecture, gardens, and rich history make it a destination to visit.It was originally designed by the famous London theatre architect Samuel Beazley. Having a diverse past saw the building being used as a horticultural college from 1903-1960’s training the Women’s Land Army during both World Wars, and the home of the High Sheriff of Warwickshire.Having undergone a £50 million refurbishment, CAT BN69 solid brass stair nosings were chosen to compliment the historic beauty of the 19th century country house.The BN69 is a single channel brass stair nosing designed to butt up to flooring, or be installed with BNE brass nap lock profile for carpet installations and BNFE30 for retrofit installations.This stair edging is supplied in CAT’s four signature brass finishes and can be supplied drilled or undrilled.Around half the budget was spent on reinstating original features, the other on transforming the bedrooms and public spaces by installing custom woven carpet to communal areas including staircases, restaurants, cinema and not forgetting the Gin Bar. The theatre was designed by Architect Frank Mitchem. Building work commenced in the year 1910, and the theatre opened its doors to the public on 6th November 1911, with a total build bill of just £12,000. Its most notable productions include Annie, The Buddy Holly Story, Fame and Billy Elliot. In 2016 the theatre closed its doors for a multi-million-pound refurbishment. InstallationCAT worked closely with Affinity Flooring and 8Build supplying hundreds of metres of solid brass stair nosings and flooring profiles for the theatre.After numerous site visits and meetings, CAT’s fabrication team formed a variety of shaped stair nosings for the curved step areas throughout the main auditorium.CAT stair nosings and flooring profiles were supplied in highly polished brass to keep to the theatre’s grand gold theme. All of the profiles were successfully installed in time for the theatre’s grand opening in December 2017 for their newest production, Broadway Musical – Hamilton.

There have been four different theatres built on the site, the first of which opened its doors in 1663. The current theatre was designed by Benjamin Dean Wyatt and opened in its current format in 1812. The theatre, now owned and operated by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s company LW Theatres, has just gone through an astonishing £60 million refurbishment, designed by architects Haworth Tompkins, which includes new bars, dressing rooms and even a new 16 person lift to grant easy access to upper levels!InstallationOver the past 2 years, CAT has worked closely with the client, the architects and the flooring contractors – to supply a range of solid brass flooring profiles and stair nosings throughout this iconic building. Hand-finished here in the UK, these Brass Nosings adorn the staircases within the theatre’s auditorium and many of the original cantilevered staircases in the foyers and Royal Boxes.Alongside Loughton Contracts, CAT conducted multiple site visits, to measure and template the hundreds of steps across the theatre. These measurements were conveyed to our fabrication team, who worked extremely hard to bring the nosings to life and replicate the detail of the treads, to ensure the overall finish was first class.Last but by no means least, as you walk into the newly refurbished theatre foyer, you will be greeted by the stunning bespoke carpet by Alarwool, expertly finished by Loughton Contracts, with our 16mm solid brass rods, hand-turned by our factory and hand finished in antique brass, to match the nosings and trims throughout.Be sure to look up too, the atrium roof is simply stunning!

Central Hall Westminster hosts more than 800 diverse events a year, from conferences to concerts, with all their profits going towards enhancing their building and raising money for charitable works all over the world. Situated in the venues undercroft, Wesley’s Cafe is a hot spot for visitors and especially popular with tourists, the cafe covers over 300m2 and also is adjacent to further event space.Due to the entrance into the cafe being via a staircase, the constant high footfall called for a stair nosing made up from a combination of our Aluminium products.AN69 was the main section to fit the rounded step edge, then aluminium extension piece ANEXT creating a wider tread connected to an ANRE25 ramp edge at the back covering the safety vinyl flooring. Finally, the robust Aluminium ATI49.5 aluminium inserts were inserted into the tread of AN69 and ANEXT to conceal the screw head fixings and give an all-aluminium finish.
