In collaboration with Overton Primary School, we created a tailor-made playground that has not only become a source of joy for the children, but also fosters learning and growth.

Combining cardio and strength building equipment, Sunshine Gym designed an outdoor gym equipment fitness zone at Pattingham Playing Fields.It features a Rower, Double Health Walker, Arm & Pedal Bicycle as well as a Double Squat Push and Combi Pull Down Challenger & Power Push. In total the equipment provides eight exercise stations to offer a full body workout.

Seated planters boosted facilities in an historic public park for people while nearby restoration work took place.

A series of shelters enable students to make use of outdoor areas at Polden Bower SEN School.

Our 'one-stop-shop' collection of street furniture and outdoor infrastructure meant contractors could source everything they needed for the outdoor areas of a new school and leisure centre in Ponteland.

After factoring retail unit vacancy rate, shopper spending figures and footfall figures, Prestatyn Shopping Park has been ranked as the best retail park in Wales 2024 by Vitality Rankings.With big name brands drawing in large numbers of people on a daily basis, the park decided to invest in new bins to keep the popular place clean and litter-free.We designed a custom, triple version of our infamous Westleigh Recycling Bin. The galvanised steel litter bins were finished in our durable PROTEXTM powder coated frame in holly green. Our advanced powder coating systems and technology process includes a reverse osmosis system to purify the rinse water, achieving a superior finish while reducing water consumption by up to 50% if compared to conventional zinc phosphate pre-treatment.The front of the bin features six hardwood Iroko slats which are coated in a triple Danish oil to help preserve the finish of the bin, adding a high-end, natural look to the shopping area. Each section is complete with a polycarbonate plaque that helps differentiate waste from recyclables like cardboard, tins, and plastics.The overall design combines both practical and visual elements, creating a premium quality litter bin. Boasting a capacity of 75 litres within each liner (a total of capacity of 225 litres), the Westleigh has a front opening lockable door which ensures ease of emptying for maintenance staff.Our triple Westleigh litter and recycling bins also feature in other retail parks across Wales including Plas Coch Retail Park, Island Green Retail Park, and Llandudno Retail Park.

Working with Willerby Landscapes C/O Laing O’Rourke Broxap were asked to supply two Cycle Hubs to the ongoing re-generation of the former Olympic Stadium site in Stratford, London.Broxap supplied and installed two of its Manchester Cycle Hubs in a galvanized finish complete with bespoke livery in keeping with the surrounding buildings. Inside the cycle hubs users secure cycles via their own locks to Sheffield racks, whilst outside ‘short stay’ cyclists utilise stainless steel Sheffield stands (again supplied and installed by Broxap).The Manchester cycle hubs have a ‘smart key/card’ access which prevents ‘short stay’ cyclists from using the Hubs, this provides users with a subscription scheme ensuring they have secure cycle parking at all times.

A colourful freestanding Newcastle Monopitch canopy creates outdoor learning areas for a school rebuilt following a devastating fire.

A large scale canopy was created for outdoor learning and play at this school.

Willmott Dixon employed Broxap to design, build and install, four bespoke glazed canopies at the new build; Richmond Primary school in Leicester. The bespoke design, comprised of baseplated mild steel hollow section columns and a patent glazing system, featuring 6mm toughened glass. The canopies were bolted to the main frame work of the new building and upon completion of our installation, a wooden cladding system was applied around the new canopies. As part of the project, we also completed and furnished a cloakroom with coat rails and bench island units.The canopies were to be powder coated to four different colours, which represented the classroom “house” colours.

Adding variety to the daily sports activities open to children at Rode Heath Primary School has been achieved with the installation of an outdoor gym.Pupils can now enjoy a gym session after completing their Daily Mile, while teachers will incorporate the equipment into PE lessons.The gym has been designed by Sunshine Gym for a shady grassed area close to the school’s sports pitches and Key Stage 2 playground.

A series of fabric canopies double-up as a walkway enabling students and staff to make the most of outdoor areas at their school.

As part of the Building Schools For The Future Programme, Broxap were awarded the contract to supply shelter elements on this prestigious new build school at Newham, London. There was a requirement for an outdoor area beyond the classrooms with a specified decked area and shelter arrangment. Broxap produced a design to client specification featuring a bespoke monopitch version of the Newcstle Senior Shelter. This was clad in UV reducing Multiwall polycarbonate and submerge fixed into the ground, the decking element was then added beneath and around the shelter columns.The shelter is minimal and unobtrusive yet protects the decked area from the elements and provides UV protection to pupils beneath.Other shelter elements contained within the school provide by Broxap included a run of Castleford cycle shelters complete with Sheffield cycle racks.

At SEGRO Park Dagenham, Turvec worked for MCS Group to supply and install three mesh and profile steel Cubic shelters.

A transformational project designed to bring economic benefits to Shrewsbury has been completed with the addition of new seating, litter bins and planters from Broxap.

Cycle parking facilities to accommodate more than 100 cycles have been installed at a high profile business park.

Walkways, shelters and canopies from Broxap are ideal platforms for the integration of environmental features such as solar panel and green sedum roofs. A covered walkway installed at South Cheshire College was manufactured to include solar panels to benefit the campus.

Kier Southern contracted Broxap to provide a fabric tensile walkway at this working hospital. The aim was to protect patients and ambulance crews visiting the new Ophthalmology Department of the main hospital. As such, Broxap utilised their Keep it Kool Mandeville canopy design to create this bespoke, waterproof fabric, tensile walkway.Being a working hospital meant the allowance for heavy machinery was complex and, subsequently, this restricted the installation.However, this type of installation environment was nothing new for Broxap!We worked with both Southlands Hospital and contractors to keep installation noise and machinery to a minimum, remaining unobtrusive to visiting patients along with staff.The complexity of the required path for the tensile walkway (traversing around corners and between buildings) required the waterproof fabric canopy to incorporate a bespoke drainage system. This differed from the standard shelter design.Broxap designed and manufactured the walkway and installed it onsite during hospital hours; we erected 66,000.00mm length of canopy in total, incorporating an integral gutter and down-pipes to discharge at ground level. The fabric membrane is waterproof and tensioned to the main structure.

As a modern commercial development prioritising sustainability and employee well-being, the park includes dedicated cycling and walking routes, shower facilities, and several natural outdoor spaces. Working with Readie Construction, Broxap designed and manufactured a series of our Kings Cross Benches to enhance these outdoor areas.

Ross-on-Wye’s skyline has formed the inspiration for new community facilities at a residential development.The iconic St Mary’s Church spire is reflected in the play area and recreation space created by Hand Made Places for families of St Mary’s Garden Village.The secure play area is surrounded by timber picket fencing and accessed via a bespoke arch double leaf gateway.The planed and sanded softwood arch is engraved to read St Mary’s Garden Village.Four further bespoke archways make up a fun walkway leading to a custom-built version of our Milton Play Unit.The play tower features a slide, rockhold ramp, ladder wall and stepped platform with a church-style spire to one end.A Hawkley Adventure Trail, Swing Steps and Bird’s Nest climbing frame are available for older children.And no play area is complete without the swings, with a Double Cradle Swing installed for little ones as well as a Nest Swing.A Star Stage brings role play to life for little ones, with timber Modular Radius Seating, including a bench engraved with the location, also available. Our cute little Hedgehog Animal Face is watching over everyone. Our installers laid a Bound Rubber Mulch safety surface in neutral green and brown colours.In addition to the play area installation, our parent company Broxap Street Furniture manufactured and supplied six Harrogate Senior Cycle Stands for community use. Four cast iron Blackburn Seats, finished with hardwood slats and a black frame, were provided along with a Derby Standard litter bin.

Broadening the experiences of pupils is among the aims of St Peter’s CE Primary School where a new Sunshine Gym has been installed.It wanted to encourage children to engage in physical activity by providing a wider range of equipment for them to use.The school decided to invest its PE and Sport Premium in an outdoor gym, which is available to children during structured lessons and play times.

Imaginative and active play is always on the timetable at Stroud Green Primary School thanks to an outdoor adventure playground built by Hand Made Places.

Innovative design studio, Upcircle, were chosen by the University of Plymouth to create a scheme for a rooftop social area. We at Broxap were delighted to help bring this fresh, exciting design to life.The project began with the desire for improved use of space on the main campus of the University of Plymouth. With the student union acting as a gateway to the campus, it was decided that the pre-existing roof terrace should be brought up to date as a relaxed, social setting for students which would also be suitable for hosting events such as the popular campus market.The team at Upcircle put together a design for this new area in which bright, funky planters would be arranged between ‘pocket hubs’ across the roof. These hubs would be denoted by free-standing seating and table units of different sizes and styles. Another significant design feature was that this street furniture should be manufactured using hardwood timber and vibrant, colourful steel which would mirror the university’s coastal setting.Realising a design with BroxapA particular concern for the client was that they wanted to find a UK manufacturer that could carry out a value engineering exercise on Upcircle’s initial design scheme. It was at this stage that decision makers within the university approached Broxap to discuss the overall vision. As a result of these scoping meetings, Broxap was able to work with Upcircle to propose a concept of their design using an extension of our Litchard range in order to accommodate the exact requirements of the project.This extension included a modified ‘single slat’ backrest for the Litchard Seat and a longer table top to make the Litchard Picnic Unit accessible for wheelchair users. Finally, we also created some exciting, brand new products: an ergonomic sun lounger in steel-framed timber, various cylindrical steel planters and a collection of steel-framed ‘single’ benches and outdoor ‘coffee’ table style units.The client wanted the area to be complete in time for their students’ arrival at the start of the new academic year. In spite of the time constraints, the Broxap team was able to complete the manufacture of the order to our meticulous standards, delivering a complete, contemporary exterior design in a timely manner. In fact, this range was so successful that two on-campus cafés also chose to replace their outdated external furniture with our Litchard seating.
