Ashcombe School

Ashcombe School

Brookhouse

Firstly, BrookhouseUK needed to understand Ashcombes pains and create a design to eliminate these as best as possible. It quickly became apparent that they needed a unisex school washroom open to the corridor. Many existing toilets were not working, so they needed this completed as soon as possible. The half-term break was identified as a week to carry out the demolition works. A critical path was created with the initial demolition works during the half-term break. The location of the school washroom refurbishment was on the primary school corridor. With the project being carried out during term time, it was essential to ensure this was carefully managed. BrookhouseUK worked through our term-time methodology with Ashcombe school to ensure safeguarding issues were covered and the project was as little disturbance as possible.Working during the term-time is what BrookhouseUK specializes in. We can be successful at this because of our understanding and experience of how schools operate and the discipline of our workforce, which is enhanced DBS certified. We created a design concept with full height cubicles to reduce the issues they were having and specified a trough and automatic infrared taps and soap dispensers to stop the students from filling up the basins and making them overflow. The solid grade laminate school washroom system has a floor & ceiling track to achieve privacy and create an extremely robust washroom that will last for years to come. All fittings are also bolted through to ensure no damage to the laminate.

Cranmore School | Teaching Wall

Cranmore School | Teaching Wall

Brookhouse

Cranmore School required a new science & technology block to accommodate its current and future needs. The project based on a traditional build was outside of budget and times scales. The school required a partnership that would enable them to design the building and interior quickly and professionally to a DFE specification. They also need a seamless project from design to build. Finding a company that could carry out a turnkey solution was critical to the project’s success. Cranmore School wanted to be able to see into the classroom from the corridor and present students’ work to people in the corridor. They also require the teaching technology to be integrated within the fitted furniture. It was also important to create a new environment which enabled them to still teach with the students in a U but provide an area where the students would carry out group work.

Glan Morfa Primary School is located in Cardiff, Wales. They approached us with their desire to renovate their fitted furniture and educational equipment, and we took on the task in a swift and coordinated manner. We understand how important the education sector is, so we worked quickly in order to provide the students with their new, inspiring environment.Glan Morfa was excited to get on board with our fitted furniture and equipment consultancy stage, as they understood how this can help develop innovative learning environments that suit the learning styles of both students and teachers. After conducting our consultancy services, it became clear to us that Glan Morfa required a cost-effective solution that could suitably upgrade their old equipment in a way that had a positive impact on the students’ ability to learn effectively. We also learned that the school endeavored to use space utilisation techniques within their refurbishment projects. Space is increasingly becoming an issue within educational environments, and we endeavor to provide organisations with the most innovative solutions to their space-related issues. Once we had discussed and ensured that the client was pleased with our recommendations and the inspirations we were taking on board for the project, we got to work in assigning them with one of our dedicated Brookhouse UK project managers.

Interconnector Office Refurbishment

Brookhouse

Interconnector UK chose to connect with Brookhouse a year in advance of their lease end date. After a vigorous selection process, it was determined that we offered exactly the high standards of assurance and experience, as well as the unique turn-key approach that Interconnector were looking for.The Chief Financial Officer at Interconnector understood the importance of partnering with an all inclusive company. They were therefore glad to find that Brookhouse would not only design and build a space that worked well for them, but could manage the entire project. This ensured the minimisation of risk throughout the project, while also saving valuable time.Interconnector UK had a vision to create an inclusive work environment. They were keen to incorporate more informal space for collaboration, gatherings and stand up meetings, as well as focus working areas and breakout spaces. This worked exceptionally well with their company culture, as Interconnector encourages their workforce to combine both office work and working from home on a regular basis. How Brookhouse helpedWe worked closely with the Interconnector relocation team, designing a space that exceeded the expectations Interconnector set out with. Our relocation efforts were specifically tailored in order to maximise the client’s ROI, as we carefully interpreted the cost analysis of each decision. While working with us, Interconnector also invested in our furniture and workplace consultancy services. This was a move that proved vital in ensuring their new office location became a well-designed space, while also enhancing practicality and productivity of the workforce.Brookhouse managed the property search and viewings, as well as detailed analyses of potential office spaces for the client. All relocation services were undertaken with the end goal of acquiring the ideal space for our clients’ specific needs. In addition to this, we were able to save them a huge sum of money along the way. Due to terms within their lease contract, Interconnector was likely to be charged a large dilapidation sum upon leaving their previous premises. We were able to use our authority on the project and our leverage in the market to renegotiate the financial settlement, saving Interconnector over an astonishing £270,000.Brookhouse were given a tight deadline for completing the fit-out, ensuring that our client wouldn’t be left without an office at any point in the process. We were able to complete the entire strip out and new design installation within just 7 weeks.Always one step ahead, we provided our client with over 80 removals crates, 12 weeks in advance of their move. This gave Interconnector plenty of time to organise and pack up their assets in preparation for their relocation efforts. By the time it came to “move day,” we were delighted to be able to assist Interconnector as they embarked upon their new venture, as our removals team ensured everything went to plan on the day. What we provided:Property Search and ConsultancyNegotiations of HOT and DilapidationsWorkspace ConsultancyFurniture ConsultationFurnitureFlooringGlass PartitionsCovid19 ProtectionDecorationElectrics and LightingBespoke JoineryKitchen & Breakout SpaceRemoval Services

Brookhouse

Firstly, BrookhouseUK needed to look at how the project could be carried out with as little disruption to the school as possible. The half-term holiday was identified as a potential time period to work around. A very tight and detailed project critical path was created and the works were carried out one week on either side of the holidays. It was important that there were still facilities during the term time and the Year 12/13 washroom started the week before the holidays and was completed at the end of the break. The disabled/visitor toilet was refurbished during the holidays and the Years 7/8 toilet started in the holidays and finished one week into the term time.

Waddesdon School, a secondary school in Buckinghamshire, had issues with poor behaviour from students in their toilets and there was a shortage of girls toilets causing further problems to the schools. They approached Brookhouse for a solution. Our SolutionAfter visiting the school, our designers determined that the best solution was to create a open unisex washroom. By turning the washrooms into one washroom and creating an opening to the corridor meant that supervision and visibility into the area reduced the behaviour issues. This along with our unique school floor to ceiling cubicle system made in solid grade laminate and bolt through hardware, we were able achieve the durability required.
