Balco Balcony Systems Ltd

An adaptable, modular balcony system with a range of balustrade, floor finishes and drainage options.Levitate is manufactured off-site in accordance with our Quality (ISO 9001) and Environmental (ISO 14001) Management Systems. The foundation of Levitate is the steel frame cassette with the anchoring locations to house our balustrade system, enclosed aluminium soffit and finished floor. Concrete floor tiles come as standard but aluminium decking is also available.Levitate comes with controlled drainage, including a drip edge which prevents water from cascading onto the balcony below. Piped drainage can also be incorporated into the balcony. The first part of the installation process can be carried out safely from the scaffold, where stub connectors are installed to the cast-in anchors, which once extended, can allow completion of the external façade works. Once completed, the installation of the Levitate arms can be undertaken as the scaffold is being struck. Levitate then then slides easily onto the Levitate arms and automatically locks into place. The methodology ensures improved efficiencies on-site and a reduction in crane time due to the ease of installation.Features and benefits:When using concrete tiles, the balcony system is available as standard in twenty-one different sizes.Choose between seven different widths and three depths. Bespoke sizes are available by using the optional aluminium decking.

Clarendon Place

Balco Balcony Systems Ltd

Clarendon Place is located in Portslade, Brighton. For this project, Balco designed, manufactured and installed 53 bespoke Balco levitate open balcony systems over 2 apartment blocks, in partnership with PMC Construction. All 53 of these Balco balconies were identical in design, with vertical bars, steel balustrade, concrete floor tiles and a front falling aluminum soffit panels which allows all excess water drain out of the balconies, resulting in they not flooding. Each balcony stack is slightly off set on every floor; this was an architectural preference and a specific design feature requested to give an aesthetically pleasing finish. Due to Balco’s Bespoke Levitate system, the Levitate balconies was installed quickly and efficiently, considering the fact that the site was small and therefore restricted the amount of balconies which could be held and constructed there at one time. There was also a huge restriction with storage, as there was none on site, which meant that all balconies had to be manufactured and assembled on the site floor, and then installed straight away.

Another of Balco’s recent projects that has been completed is Southwark Park Road, in Southwark, London. We have previously worked with the main contractor before - Lovell - at The Mill, Canton, Cardiff. The Balco balconies that were chosen for this project are Balco’s Levitate balconies. In this project, there were 46 bespoke Balco balconies over the 7 stories of the building. On this project, the clients chose to use the traditional steel vertical bar balustrade, with standard concrete tiles and a negative drainage system concealed within the soffit tray. There are two main balcony types in this project: 36 single balconies, and 10 oversized double balconies. We are able to offer the oversized double balconies as the Levitate balcony system has been designed to be modular, which allows us to fix the balcony slabs adjacent to each other. This, therefore, enables us to give our customers the balcony sizes they require.Levitate is Balco’s simplest and safest balcony system Balco has created to date. The unique modular construction of Levitate allows our installation teams to maximize efficient use of the site, combining quality and accuracy with speed and safety.
