Ambar Kelly Ltd

Described as a ‘game-changer’ for west London, 245 Hammersmith Road is a stunning 11-floor, commercial office building which comprises 242,000 sq. ft of flexible, collaborative space to inspire and connect its occupants. When it came to managing the riser zone, developer Lendlease turned to Ambar Kelly’s innovative RiserSafe® system to create a secure construction environment that would keep subcontracting teams safe whilst work was being completed. Ambar Kelly has built a strong working relationship with Lendlease and has collaborated with the contractor on other projects including IQL Stratford.

Built in the heart of Birmingham, this building has 18 floors steel frame around 3 concrete cores. Being a very constrained site, close coordination was required with the structural steel frame contractor. Two deliveries a week were required to ensure their programme was met.

Mace Group purchased the units directly and free-issued them to the steel frame contractor, VBH JV (a joint venture ofHollandia and Victor Buyck). Some of the units were 7m x 1.5m wide which Ambar Kelly designed to incorporate horizontal fire protection and drylined fire walls as part of the RiserSafe® system. This allowed for a group of shafts, or openings, to be combined into one unit, which reduced the number of trimmer steels and concrete beams required for walls, thereby reducing crane lifts and construction time. The new Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre will provide four times the exhibition space as the current AECC and increase the maximum capacity to 12,500 visitors in the arena. It is the 2nd largest construction site in Scotland. We have now supplied 198 units to site to date (131 for the hotel and 67 for the conference centre) direct from our factory in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire to AECC Aberdeen.

As part of a mixed-use commercial development in King’s Cross, Ambar Kelly have supplied bespoke riser flooring system. The rise flooring is providing to an ideal riser flooring solution for a complex construction project involving reinforced concrete frame and steel frame buildings, to improve buildability and safety.

Ambar Kelly’s RiserSafe® system proved indispensable during the refurbishment and extension of 1 Triton Square, London, for one of the UK’s premier property developers, British Land. Located in the Regent’s Place mixed-use scheme, the 1 Triton Square project involved a complete renovation of the existing five floors, a modification of the central atrium plus the creation of an additional three floors to the original 1980s structure.

Principal Place has a 50-storey residential building and a further 3 buildings housing the Amazon head office. Providing a significant land mark development in an area fast becoming a sought after location for residential and commercial reasons. RiserSafe® was used in all buildings in the development specified by Multiplex and installed by Byrne Bros and P.J. Carey. Fully utilising the 11 functions of RiserSafe® across the scheme.

Located in the new Nine Elms Regeneration Zone, Vauxhall Sky Gardens comprises a mix of commercial and residential space, including a single- storey podium, an eight-storey block and a 36-storey tower block. Vauxhall Sky Gardens consists of 194 private, six shared ownership, two penthouses and 35 affordable apartments, with seven floors of commercial office space within the tower providing over 4,000 square metres of office space.

Designed by architects Kohn Pedersen Fox, 52 Lime Street, also known as The Scalpel, is a 38-storey commercial skyscraper situated in London’s lucrative financial district. Located in the City of London cluster among the Leadenhall Building and The Gherkin, The Scalpel is an icon of the capital’s skyline and a stunning addition to London’s urban scene. Ambar Kelly worked with main contractor, Skanska and frame subcontractors, Byrne Bros and William Hare on this project.
