Nullifire System B150 Pipe Collars

Nullifire - Part of Tremco illbruck Coatings Ltd

Consisting of two half shells of powder coated steel, lined with intumescent material, the collars are available in four standard sizes to fit PVCu pipework, non-standard sizes are available on request.

B150 Pipe Collars have been independently tested and assessed for both integrity and insulation as specified by BS 476: Part 20.1987 and can provide up to 4 hours fire resistance.

QuelCast Cast-In Fire Collar

Quelfire

Cast-in fire collar/ cast-in device, designed to prevent the spread of fire through plastic pipes and cables where they penetrate concrete floors.

ROCKWOOL® FIREPRO Intumescent Pipe Wraps

ROCKWOOL Ltd

Graphite based intumescent sheet encapsulated in a polythene sheath, designed to be wrapped around the outside diameter of pipework or trunking and secured by means of a self-adhesive strip. The Intumescent Pipe Wrap is positioned within the line of compartment wall or floor with the edge of the product left exposed at the face of the wall or floor to be activated by the heat of the fire. The pipe wrap is then sealed into the structure with ROCKWOOL Firepro Firestop Compound.

Under fire conditions, the intumescent material expands against the structure and ‘chokes’ the void left by the melting plastic.

For walls greater than 100mm thickness and where fire resistance is required from both sides it may be necessary to fit 2 wraps. Where pipes are insulated, it is recommended that ROCKWOOL Insulated Fire Sleeves are considered.

Advantages:

  • Simple to install.
  • No mechanical fixings.
  • Water resistant.
  • Maintenance free.
  • Available to suit pipe sizes up to 160mm O.D.
  • Available to fit most electrical trunking sizes.
  • Available from order in 48 hours.

FIREPRO Insulated Fire Sleeve

ROCKWOOL Ltd

A combination of Rockwool insulation and graphite intumescent powder designed to provide fire stopping and thermal insulation of pre-insulated pipe penetrations. Designed for use on copper, mild steel, polypropylene, HD polyethylene, ABS and PVC pipes passing through masonry and plasterboard walls and Rockwool Ablative Coated Batts.

The fire sleeves are designed to fire stop pipework operating at temperatures between 0°C and 180°C. At low temperatures, care should be taken to maintain the vapour barrier. They can considerably reduce the noise emission from noisy pipework - for higher standards of acoustic insulation, please refer to Rockwool ‘Techwrap2 and Techtube’ data sheet.

Rockwool insulation products do not contain blowing agents with an ozone depletion potential (ODP) or global warming potential (GWP), are CFC-HCFC-HFC free and 97% recyclable. They will not react with metal components or cause loss of plasticiser from PVC cables and pipes however; precautions should be taken when insulating austenitic stainless steel, regardless of insulation type. The product offers excellent thermal, acoustic and fire protection insulation without providing sustenance to vermin or encouraging the growth of fungi, moulds or bacteria.

The Fire Sleeves are supplied 300 mm long and are simply cut to the desired length. No specialist tools, mastics or ancillary materials are required for the fitting of the sleeves. To maintain the fire rating, the minimum allowable length of sleeve is 60 mm. The Fire Sleeves can accommodate irregularities in the wall/floor opening and the pipe overall diameter up to 15 mm. Multiple pipe penetrations can be accommodated in conjunction with Rockwool Ablative Coated Batts.

Advantages:

  • Quick, simple and accurate installation.
  • Maintains pipe insulation at penetration points.
  • Supplied with integral vapour barrier.
  • No mastic or ancillaries required.
  • Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation.

ROCKWOOL® FIREPRO® Firestop Pipe Collars

ROCKWOOL Ltd

A powder coated steel sleeve containing a flexible graphite based intumescent liner manufactured to suit the pipework to be fire stopped and designed for sealing UPVC, polypropylene, HDPE and ABS plastic pipes.

Integral toggles are opened up and the collar is simply fitted around the plastic pipe. The toggles are closed and the collar is pushed flush to the surface of the wall or underside of the floor. The collar is then securely fastened to the structure by means of fire resistant fixings threaded through fixing tabs. Under fire conditions the intumescent material swells filling the void left by the burnt out plastic.

Where fire protection is required from both sides of the wall, a pipe collar will be required each side of the wall.

Advantages:

  • Simple to install.
  • Water resistant.
  • Maintenance free.
  • Available to suit pipe sizes ranging from 55 to 355mm O.D.
  • Available from order in 48 hours.
