Icopal Universal POCB Inverted Roofing System

BMI Icopal

Icopal Universal consists of a POCB (polyolefin copolymerisate binder) reinforced with glass fibre and polyester. The result is a strong, flexible, and extremely stable single layer roof covering that is UV resistant and tough.

Icopal Universal can be applied rapidly to insulation materials, timber, concrete or profiled metal roofs, or to existing bituminous roofing systems. The three variations of Icopal Universal meet a wide range of applications:

  • Icopal Universal - can be mechanically fixed, loose laid and ballasted.
  • Icopal Universal SA - self adhesive membrane making detailing easy and safe.
  • Icopal Universal WS - resistant to root penetration making it ideal for green roof applications.

Icopal Universal does not require open flame, making it extremely safe to apply. The thin fleece of polypropylene used to prevent rolls from sticking together also makes Icopal Universal easy to use.

Icopal Universal has an expected lifetime of up to 30 years, yet remains easy to remove and recycle at the end of its useful life. In addition, the thin design results in the minimal use of raw materials in manufacture and energy for transportation.

Icopal Universal POCB adhered system offers an ideal solution on very complex building shapes or where drilling and mechanical fasteners are inappropriate or impractical.

Ballasted System:

Icopal Universal POCB adhered system offers an ideal solution on very complex building shapes or where drilling and mechanical fasteners are inappropriate or impractical but can support the increased loading from the ballast material.

Monarplan Cold Deck Roofing System

Monarplan is a flexible PVC-P single ply membrane offering excellent characteristics of strength, elongation and weathering making it ideal for new build or refurbishment projects.

All membranes are reinforced and are available with or without a fleece backing providing scope for all methods of application and offering specifiers confidence in performance and unlimited freedom in design.

Mechanically Fastened System:

Monarplan FM systems rely on the use of fasteners and pressure plates installed at pre-determined centres within the overlap to attach the roofing system to the structure. The system offers fast application time, instant seam strength and reduced impact associated with inclement weather conditions. Monarplan FM membrane is mechanically attached through to the structural deck using Monarplan Tubular Fasteners of appropriate length. The fasteners are required to penetrate through the structural deck with a minimum projection to the underside of 25 mm.
