Ormonde Wind

OVERVIEW

Vattenfall is one of Europe's largest producers of electricity and heat an have markets in Sweden, Germany, Denmark and further.

We have designed, fabricated and supplied the steel and GRP grating, barrier handrails and ladders to the Ormonde Wind Jackets wind farm.

The 150MW wind farm is the first offshore wind farm to use steel jackets for the turbine and substation foundations.

The jackets were transported offshore on cargo barges and secured onto the seabed by inserting the four legs into pre-driven piles the longest 'single-pull' electricity export cable installation in UK waters (42km).
