OVERVIEW
PB Doyle Construction Ltd, a principal contractor, undertook a comprehensive refurbishment of an existing warehouse facility in Mildenhall, Suffolk. As part of Phase 1, over 5,000 m² of new concrete hardstanding was installed. A key element of the drainage strategy involved the installation of large-capacity soakaways to manage surface water run-off from both the roof and hardstanding areas.
Our Solution
JKH Ltd supplied a bespoke range of precast soakaway chambers, designed to meet the specific requirements of the site. These bolt-together panel systems offer:
On-Site Performance
The modular design significantly streamlined the installation process. PB Doyle’s groundworkers were able to assemble the units quickly using a standard 360 excavator—eliminating the need for cranes and reducing both time and cost.
Client Feedback
“We found the product very easy to use on site. The precast units were lightweight and could be lifted into position by our 360 excavator. The bolt-together design allowed our team to assemble the soakaways in minutes. The integrated knock-out sections made pipe connections simple and efficient.”
“We would certainly recommend this product and look to use it on other projects in the future.”
