Sliding pocket doors are hugely beneficial when designing new or refurbished accommodation for people with disabilities where inclusive design is deemed important. More than 30 sliding pocket door systems and 11 Eclisse Hoist pocket door systems have been installed inside the new building. The Eclisse Hoist pocket door system has meant that a hoist lift can be between rooms to transport the young people from one area to another. Three ECLISSE Hoist pocket door systems have been installed in the physiotherapy area and a motorised lifting system in the pool area.

The automatic TSA 160 door drive ensures light and reliable opening and closing of the automatic doors, even in heavily frequented areas. The TS 4000 overhead door closer provides flexible ease of access at swing doors with manual opening. The closing force of the door closers can be individually set and can be perfectly adjusted to meet the needs of each clinical area. They enable door leaves to be opened with minimal effort, e.g. for children and weak adults. The TSA drives make transportation of beds and/or patients easier for clinical staff.Access control for supervised clinical areasTo safeguard access control to sensitive clinical areas, the swing doors to the operating rooms and intensive card wards were also equipped with a TSA drive with an electromagnetic locking system. This guarantees that only authorised persons can enter these areas.

The Junipers is the first of its kind in the south west of England; offering inpatient support that's closer to home for people with complex mental health needs. The design of the purpose-built unit included input from experts by lived experience and is truly a facility designed with people in mind. When we first discussed the plans for The Junipers PICU with Devon Partnership, we knew it was an opportunity to work together to create a new state-of-the-art ward. After reviewing their options, Devon Partnership chose to install our full doorset range. We worked closely with them before, during and after installation to ensure all of the doors and locksets were operating to help both patients and staff.

SubFloor flooring was used to help renovate, raise and ventilate a 700 m² floor into a Nursery near Gothenburg, Sweden.The Subfloor ventilation system was ideal for this nursery, as it allowed for multiple floor height adjustments and for ventilation installations under the floor. Associated floor ventilation material such as ducts, air distribution strips, fans, etc. was also provided. The negative pressure the ventilation generates under the floor creates a fresh and healthy indoor environment.This simple and elegant solution raised and levelled the floor to allow for installations and insulation. The project included not only straight runs, but it took in some complicated topography and a Norwegian Gate that was a very difficult manufacture, but which looked and worked great in the end

Franke Sissons were thrilled to be chosen to supply their stainless steel sanitaryware products on the recent extension to Serlby Park Academy in Doncaster. Four of Franke Sissons Centinel drinking fountains & six stainless steel circular washtroughs were supplied. “We use Franke Sissons products regularly on our projects, as not only are we guaranteed the highest quality, but products are available in a short lead time. A bespoke side sliding sectional garage door by Rundum Meir provides a blend of aesthetics and modern functionality in a Victorian house renovation project. The 19 ft x 12 ft garage has been transformed into a quality working space equipped and finished exquisitely, allowing for use as a utility area or office as well as a vehicular. A clear 2900mm span is provided by a sliding sectional garage door. Hand crafted using knot-free Spruce, this bespoke timber door in RAL 6021 Pale Green is fully automated with insulation between the five solid double skinned timber panels.With one third obscure glazing, the door allows for plenty of natural light to enter the garage. The design of the garage door panels and the cross styles in the window were the customer’s wish to satisfy the local conservation area requirements. It is the perfect example of the role a Rundum Meir garage door can play in transforming a garage to give it new purpose and flexibility.

Deny’s Holland House, located in London’s Camden Road was the subject of a recent and total refurbishment by specialist contractor, ITC Concepts.Within the specification were stainless steel worktops to a total of 13 kitchens. Each kitchen is designated for shared use by student occupants of the various apartments. As such, the need for a durable, safe and hygienic facilities lead to the specification of seamless worktops with integrated sinks and anti-drip edge profiles. GEC Anderson were able to produce the prescribed configurations and detailing that were called for. Our client faced the challenge of transforming a conventional restaurant into a drive-thru establishment without available internal space. In response to their unique requirements, we proposed a comprehensive solution centered around the provision of two separate drive-thru booths. The first booth was designated for payment collection, while the second served as the food presenter window. To expedite the installation process and minimise disruption to ongoing refurbishment works, both pods were meticulously fabricated off-site in our workshop and swiftly assembled on-site.Each drive-thru booth was equipped with a range of featured to optimise functionality and user experience. A notable highlight was the incorporation of a one-piece, large-sized aluminium roof system, providing instant weatherproofing upon installation and ensuring operational continuity regardless of outdoor conditions. Additionally, the pods featured commercial-grade access aluminium doors and large-sized, heavy duty drive-thru windows, meticulously designed to withstand rigorous use while offering ease of operation for end users. By seamlessly integrating functionality, durability, and efficiency, we delivered a turnkey solution that not only met but exceeded our client’s expectations for their drive-thru restaurant conversion project.

Installation of Profab Access' INTEGRA 4000 Series riser doors with PRECISION adjustable frame at 8 Bishopsgate

Yeoman Shield were assigned by main contractors Bauvill Construction to install a wall and door protection system as part of the scheme to create a new Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiology ward along with an access corridor at William Harvey Hospital in Kent.The access corridor was fitted with Yeoman Shield’s Guardian Twin Handrail in a stunning colour combination of burgundy and mid grey with matching accessories and attractive stainless steel connective brackets helping to add a unique touch to the décor of the area.Chosen for its dual functionality the Guardian Twin handrail incorporates an ergonomic upper handrail as support for people who require assistance and a lower robust protection rail, which sitting slightly forward guards both the handrail and the walls from marking and damage caused by the passage of wheeled equipment.The same Guardian Twin Handrail system was also deployed in the CCU this time with a red lower rail, a striking contrast to the mid grey handrail. Matching red Corner Protection Angles, both 90° and 135°, were installed to vulnerable corners protecting from impact damage.Fire doors in the unit also benefitted from the installation of Yeoman Shield’s fire rated door protection products, shielding the door from impact damage that can be detrimental to the functioning of a fire door.Fire rated door edge protectors to both meeting and hinged edges as well as door protection panels were added to the door without affecting the integrity of the original fire door.Yeoman Shield were able to assist with exacting time scales on the project by a quick turnaround of product and service with a site survey, manufacture and installation of the product being completed in 2 weeks.Paula Stone, Head of Operational Facilities Management at East Kent University Foundation Trust commented “The lower wall protection element of Yeoman Shield’s Guardian Handrail now fitted in our high traffic areas will reduce the cost of repairs and maintenance overtime. Part of the Melia Hotels & Resorts Group since 1999, Melia White House is situated in a striking Grade II listed Art Deco building close to London’s Regent’s Park. Following discussions with Camden Planning, the Clement EB24 range of new steel windows with welded G+ multi pane system was installed. In total nearly 800 windows were installed in two phases requiring the Clement team to work to an exacting schedule.

Reflections in Chesterton, by HC Moss (Builders) Ltd, won Best Small Development in the Cambridge News Property Awards to become the latest in a long list of award-winning projects to feature Neaco products. The Sash Window Workshop were contacted to replace the windows and doors in a property in the Cotswolds, as part of a large renovation project of the property.The majority of the existing windows were 2 over 2 sash windows, but these didn’t suit the style of the property home so they wanted to get an idea what other styles of sash windows would look like to restore the property to be more period appropriate.After discussing with the customer, a quote was sent across for replacement 6 over 6 sash windows, new casement windows and new doors.When proceeding with the work, they decided to split the work required across several separate orders between October 2020 and July 2021.As the property was in a conservation area and the windows were not being replaced like-for-like, they obtained planning permission for the new windows. After the order was placed with us, we sent across detailed drawings to accompany their planning permission request.The door and windows were then made to their exact requirements in our workshops in Berkshire. They were manufactured in Accoya, which comes with a 50 year anti-rot guarantee, and were finished in a bespoke semi-gloss paint.After the windows and door were manufactured, they were installed by our skilled fitters. In total, across all the orders, 1 complete new window and 2 complete new French doors were manufactured and installed, along with 24 sets of windows having new sashes manufactured and installed into the existing window frames.Since completing the work, the customer has commented that the product and service was excellent and noted that they would recommend us to others. Superdry’s new flagship store in Oxford Street London, is a 29,000 square foot UK hub for shopping, wholesale, and brand ambassadors. We had the pleasure of working with the team at Technical Signs where together we designed and manufactured a bespoke pull door handle that fitted Superdry’s criteria and specification, encompassing their brand and values whilst also remaining practical.Bespoke 2.5M full height antique brass pull handles with the Superdry logo engraved were the final product which were hand crafted for the all of the exterior doors.

Just 100 metres away from the Royal Courts of Justice in London stands 188 Fleet Street, which until recently was the home of bankers Coutts & Co. The 35,000 sq ft building, purchased for £11 million, has been recently refurbished by HD Architects to house a publishing company. The renovated office benefits from a number of striking internal steel screens which feature throughout the office and contribute to the amount of natural daylight that filters through the space.

Over 100 Optima windows and doors were manufactured and installed in a sustainable townhouse development that offers a contemporary twist on Victorian terraced housing.

Contemporary Glass Structures were selected to manufacture and install a flush glazed mirror door into a 4th-floor terrace glass façade as part of extensive renovations of a commercial office building in the heart of Manchester’s professional district. Drawing on their experience in the fenestration industry Contemporary offered a bespoke solution and specified the Kestrel Aluminium residential door system as the base for the project.

A GEC Anderson stainless steel counter and splashbacks were recently deployed in the new meeting room and ancillary facilities at St Mary’s Church, Wivenhoe. The historic Parish Church of Wivenhoe is thought to be built on Roman foundations and is the oldest remaining building in this small riverside town in Essex. Against this historic background, the new space, designed by Inkpen Downie Architecture, provides a light and airy addition that includes a small kitchen and servery. Stainless steel was specified for the curved counter and for the splashbacks within the kitchen itself. The specified units were supplied and installed by GEC Anderson, under the supervision of local contractor, Bakers of Danbury.“This was a nice project to have been fortunate enough to be involved with and, in my opinion, is a great example of how well new can sit with old. SubFloor flooring was used to help renovate, raise and acoustically dampen concrete floors in apartments.The acoustic feet simply click onto the SubFloor screws and dampens any step noise up to 28 dB, this helps reduce; step noise, rebound noise and flanking transmission.This simple and elegant solution raised and levelled the floor to allow for installations and insulation underneath. Stowford Mill, built in 1787, is one of Devon’s oldest historic industrial sites to still be expanding.Because of its iconic features and characteristic atmosphere, Stowford Mill has long been established as one of the trendiest places to work, eat and shop, bringing commerce and prosperity to the surrounding area, and forcing the town to expand to make room for tourists who just never wanted to leave.Part of this expansion will eventually include Burrington Estates’ eight-acre vibrant community of contemporary new homes. This new development, for which the main contractor is URBN, is due for completion in 2023.Started in March 2018, the existing homes already include Alumasc Rainwater Infinity Steel gutters and downpipes, specified to provide eco-friendly, discreet and resilient water management that will last. Crucially, this system was favoured to the use of plastic systems, to meet the demand for a readily available product that was both environmentally- and price-conscious.As the new development creates a unique new environment in which to live, work and relax in the midst of the historic area, the most important part of the project was to keep the best of the stunning architectural heritage already there, whilst finding innovative ways to incorporate the latest modern building design. Helping to bridge this gap between the historic and the modern, AWMS offered a solution.“Alumasc systems were chosen as it was the project’s requirements to specifically use steel for gutters and downpipes,” David Loader, Key Account Manager at Alumasc, explained.

We worked with Squire Sanders, the global law firm, and their architect Jacobs Webber, to design their contemporary headquarters. Based in Central London at 7 Devonshire Square, their space needed to be professional, functional and fit with the aesthetic of the rest of their offices located in various countries around the world.In their building, we fitted secondary doors – for cupboards and storage spaces – that were full-height and designed to discreetly hide the casing of sliding folding walls to create a smooth and sleek interior. They worked perfectly with the architect’s plans so that the company had to make no compromises on the design they wanted within the space that they had.We also spent time drawing up a completely bespoke design for their fire extinguisher cupboards, factoring in aesthetics, function, and safety. The end result consisted of cupboards with a concealed frame, a stainless steel wrapped door, and a vision panel to see within the unit from the exterior.In terms of the doors themselves, we worked with the architect and the law firm to select the Arriva, Innova, models and bespoke SS-Faced Arriva models. These choices allowed us to create designs that worked perfectly for their use and allow the design to flow throughout their headquarters.The end result is effortlessly modern, and the design is consistent with their global branding. Located in the painstakingly conserved 16th century Riddle’s Court in Edinburgh’s Old Town, the Patrick Geddes Centre is aworld-class centre for learning. Steeped in history, culture andarchitectural wonder, it reopened as a community, conferenceand events space following a £6m restoration in 2017.Allgood was selected by conservation specialist architectsLDN to deliver an ironmongery solution that would providemodern facilities within the picturesque Category A-listedmerchant’s house, without compromising the integrity of theoriginal building.Prestigious heritage hardware brand Frank Allart was chosen,and an antique brass finish was applied to blend in with thehistoric areas of the venue. Throughout the modern quarters,the high-performance and ultra-durable Modric stainless steelrange was used.Bespoke hinges and door closers were developed to matchthe different manufacturers’ ironmongery, while Certifireapproved Alite door closers and Allgood’s integrated securitypackage including secure access controls, intercom andvideo entry systems were employed to deliver a high-qualityfinish.

This work at Holborn’s Chancery House  — The Office Group’s largest location to date spanning 127,000 sq ft — focused on a design that accommodates multiple working zones and breakout spaces, enhances wellbeing and offers an abundance of natural light.Radii’s design department provided multiple bespoke solutions for this fit out, working on four of the building’s nine floors.For glazed fronts, our elegant Parallel 50 (Rw 45 dB) double glazed partitions in emulated satin stainless steel finish — a reference to the historic London Silver Vaults that are located at the base of Chancery House — were utilised along with wraparound framing and a custom blade detail to create an eye-catching visual effect.On the Ground floor, single glazed Linear 59 partitions (Rw 39 dB) with a bespoke pocket sliding door into drywall was installed for platform lift access.Finally, E30 fire rated double doors were placed on the Lower Ground Floor to provide fire route protection.
