Located on St Mary’s Street, Cardiff, Hodge House is a beautifully renovated Grade II listed eight-storey building. Originally constructed in 1915 on the site of Cardiff’s original Victorian Town Hall, the building was home to the Welsh Co-Operative for many years.Architect Stride Treglown led the refurbishment of this historic building, converting it into 110,000 sq. ft of modern office space. Working in partnership with Paramount Interiors, they specified Allgood’s Modric and Holt ranges throughout. The development, winner of ‘Workplace Design of the Year’ and shortlisted for ‘Development of the Year’ at the Insider Wales Property Awards 2020, has had its interior transformed to suit the next generation of occupiers while showcasing the stunning original features including exposed decorative cast-iron columns and riveted steel structures from the 1930s.Our Modric and Holt ranges matched this design intent. Classic singles were used in bathrooms to create more space where the arc of standard hinged doors would have otherwise encroached on the space. This allowed more space for larger shower enclosures and enhanced room layouts. Situated in the London Borough of Newham, East HamTechnical College was reopened in September 2014and is now home to over 500 students. The elegantVictorian building was originally built in 1905 and isnow a Grade II listed building.Rick Mather Architects retained many of the existingfeatures of the original building whilst the new modernadditions seek to complement and highlight these,whilst ensuring functionality for users. Extensive areasof glazed tiles and bricks have been repaired anduncovered to restore the original diverse materialityof the building. Though the south and east elevationsutilised alternative materials, they maintain the redbrick and terracotta aesthetic of the more elaboratenorth and west facades.The ironmongery package presented a challenge forAllgood. The high usage of the building meant theironmongery would need to be highly functional but itwas essential that the aesthetics matched the interiordesign of the building.Whilst many of the classrooms have been modernised,the interior designer elected to match the ironmongeryto the more classic themes of the building.A co-ordinated antique brass finish was applied toknob handles, numerals, hinges and door closers oneach of the wooden, white painted doors.In the bathroom areas, where some of the originaldecor was not retained, a more conventional stainlesssteel finish was utilised to cubicle locks and WC turns

HAG supplied and installed Armourguard & Alishiled Range roller shutters to numerous locations in the Niger delta to enhance the security of the Shell premises. HAG also trained local representatives of the main contractor to enable them to install HAG products on a supply only basis.

'The Portal' is a new £16 million public services hub in Ellesmere Port, delivered by Vinci Construction UK for Cheshire West and Chester Council. The new facility will be home to more than 500 council and public sector staff, a Job Centre Plus and a Citizen’s Advice Bureau.The building has been constructed with many environmentally friendly elements including solar panels, air source heat pump and electric vehicle charging points. The Portal’s envelope is wrapped at the top and bottom with an attractive, copper coloured metal cladding and a newly formed public realm area will surround the exterior, with bench seating and green landscaped sections.Internally, 'The Portal' consists of large open plan working areas with smaller subsection meeting rooms, break out and kitchen spaces which are present on each level and a main central staircase for circulation.Metal Technology Ltd supplied its 10-35Hi+ commercial entrance doors and System 17 capped curtain walling for the large, glazed sections of the build to approved fabricator and installer RED Systems Limited.Due to open its doors in Spring, it’s fantastic to have been involved in this state-of-the-art, commercial project, which is a catalyst for the wider Ellesmere Port Town Centre regeneration master plan.
