Residential: Hamilton delivers smart multi-room audio and lighting control to new Quintas Homes-designed apartments.

Six two-bed and three-bed apartments designed by Matteo Bianchi, inspired by the Tom Ford-directed film ‘A Single Man’. In-keeping with the development’s chic design, Hamilton’s Smart Multi-Room Audio system was installed – allowing full control of music in any room via coloured touchscreen panels or remotely via Hamilton's App. 4-Room/4-Zone control units in each apartments, with built-in DAB radio. Finishing the sleek look were coordinated control panels, switch plates and sockets in a stylish Black Nickel Hartland CFX® design, the sockets featuring USB charge and data points to suit modern living requirements.

TRC Windows

This Grade II listed building in Thames Ditton dates from 1792. The former manor house, priory and chapel was repurposed as a care home in 1905 by the Nuns of Compassion, yet in recent years the historic buildings have posed challenges to delivering modern standards of care. Oliver & Robb Architects have rationalised the design in a renovation project to created 78 luxury bed spaces. We were appointed to design, supply and install a total of 263 timber tilt and slide sash windows, tilt and turn windows, single doors and French doors to sympathetically upgrade the property.

HIACE Single Leaf Hatch

Surespan Ltd

Surespan HIACE external single leaf access hatch to fit structural opening 1200 x 3400 was manufactured and supplied to a residential home in Solihull. This hatch was installed for access to an under ground level gym. Rated at pedestrian loading, operated by two 24v DC Actuators. The pan type door was recessed for 40mm paving slabs infill. The patent frame with unique hidden hinge incorporates an EPDM unbroken seal to help prevent the ingress of dirt and moisture. Fitted with a retractable safety grid operated by 24v actuator. Supplied with a Zen controlled 240vAC/24vDC electrical supply, transformer.

School Receives New Single Layered Roofing System


The roof on Bede Primary School and Community Centre in Gateshead was in great need of repair. Installing roofing contractors Hodgson and Allon liaised with IKO to refine the specification to meet the client’s requirements. This included a full strip and re-cover with a flame free system to carry a 20 year guarantee. IKO chose an IKO Mach One single layer bituminous system incorporating a site specific cut-to-fall system. This project was a complex roof replacement system with multi-trades required for specialist operations.

Koster TPO Single Ply membrane - Overlay Project.

The Koster TPO Single Ply Membrane was chosen to overlay an existing and failed flat roof on a coastal school on the Isle of Man. The Koster TPO was carefully designed and installed over the old asphalt covering to thus extend the buildings life and provide a safe environment for the pupils and teachers. Nestled in the trendy Shoreditch area of London, Golden Bee is contemporary and eclectic bar which showcases a number of unusual and exciting wall and floor tiles. With theatrical design elements taking centre stage, Solus Ceramics supplied tiles to create a bold design statement. Shaped rich black tiles from the Diamond range were fixed to a grand feature wall to create an angular contrast to the bright, gilded bar area. The diamond shaped tiles create a stunning optical masterpiece with the delicate 3D texture adding a sense of depth. Hexagon floor tiles complete the project evoking the idea of honeycomb.

Affinity255 creates dream floor for Natural Bed Company showroom

Luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s innovative Affinity255 PUR flooring collection were used to create a stunning herringbone design floor at Natural Bed Company’s showroom in Sheffield. 290 m² of Affinity255 PUR vinyl flooring in the Seasoned Grey Oak design was installed in the shop floor area by Sheffield based contractors MG Flooring on this showroom project managed by Structural Interiors and designed by Studio Gedye architects. Caro Whiteside from Natural Bed Company commented, “We’re delighted with the finished look of our new showroom. Our Affinity255 herringbone floor looks so stylish and was quick to install."

Providing specialist dementia care facilities as well as a day centre for the elderly. The £5.7million development was delivered by BUPA and Southampton City Council. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the main staircase to provide a safe and stylish barrier. The system’s combination of minimalist oak handrails and sleek tubular balusters in a contemporary brushed nickel finish complemented the building’s modern décor and other good quality furnishings, whilst its availability off the-shelf meant there were no lengthy lead times. Richard Burbidge also supplied wall mounted handrails for installation throughout the building.

St Bedes College

When the school decided to replace the existing flooring in the main sports hall the aspects of quality, performance and durability took centre stage. The new sports surface needed to be multi-purpose in order to be able to host exams and school functions, so therefore needed to withstand varied usage and heavy traffic. The College turned to international flooring specialist Gerflor to supply 590m2 of its world renowned Taraflex® Performance vinyl sports flooring to provide the high performing, multi-use solution it was seeking.

Using the IKO UPXL System, Providing a Lengthy 30 Year Single Point Guarantee


Southampton County Council required a waterproof roofing system that would provide a long term solution and deliver value for money for a new housing development. The decision to use the IKO UPXL system offered a lengthy 30 year single point guarantee which (in addition to providing quality and value) was paramount to the project.

The £14m Arnold Hill Academy is part of the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP) and is being constructed adjacent to the existing school in Nottingham. The new Academy’s 3,570m2 flat roof covers 8,200m2 of replacement teaching space, science labs, an indoor sports hall and a drama studio. The project team at Wates Group had already identified potential roofing products. Due to the unconventional roof specification they asked SIG Design & Technology to recommend a product that would work in tandem to deliver the required performances.

Gypsol Flowing Screed Helps recover proram for 50 bed care home


The main contractor, with many years’ experience of building bespoke care homes throughout the UK has successfully used flowing screeds in their projects for over a decade. This project was to be no exception and the main contractor needed advice on before finalizing the specification. The screed was to be placed on insulation at both ground and first floor underfloor heating systems. It needed to be as thin as possible. It needed to be installed quickly because, time scales were tight. Finally it needed to offer a rapid drying time to allow completion of floor coverings.

Architects and interior designers Fuse worked with Historic England and the city’s planning and design officers to develop a façade that is unashamedly contemporary, but has a timeless quality the client required, complementing the neighbouring buildings without imitating them.

Welsh School Benefits from a 20 Year Single Point Guarantee Roofing System


With roofs in a poor condition the County Council were looking for a phased approach to their refurbishment programme. The school wanted a solution that delivered a robust, long-lasting system that could be quickly and safely installed, from a manufacturer that could provide comprehensive technical support throughout the project. IKO assisted Monmouthshire County Council with a detailed survey report, including intrusive core sample analysis. The roofs although weathered were in a condition to receive an overlay with a new IKO Goldseal Hybrid system together with new rooflights and a tapered insulation scheme.

Exterior Accoya cladding has been selected by the University of Minnesota for The Tashijan Bee Pollination Centre. Designed by Architects MSR, 8,000 square feet of Accoya Burn and Brushed Black, coated in Delta Millworks ebony SF, features on the siding of the building and was chosen due to its durability and sustainable properties. Plus, in keeping with the ecological mission of the build, Accoya was the perfect fit due to its green credentials – thereby; the building meets the National B3 Sustainability standards as well as State of Minnesota Sustainable Building 2030 requirements.

Bonhams Auction House bids…and buys steel windows from Clement!

Bonhams is a fabulously idiosyncratic 1930s building, situated on prestigious New Bond Street, in West London. The building is Art Deco in style, listed and within a Conservation Area. Architects Lifschutz Davidson & Sandilands led a £30million restoration project and sensitivity was key. The work included replacing the original steel windows on the front elevation facing Woodstock Street and Blenheim Street. Clement W20 steel windows were chosen to match the design of the existing windows. The new windows were fitted with toughened, laminated glass and silicone fronted using dark bronze silicone (to replicate the early putty fronting).
