Rockfon brings acoustic Tech to stunning TECA – The Event Complex Aberdeen

Technical Manager Tim Spencer “The initial need was for an elegant high-performance ceiling grid that could span 2500mm and support the ceiling infill. The answer was a bespoke version of our Rockfon® System MaxiSpan™ grid. We were then briefed to find an acoustic solution to resolve the acoustic challenges for the spaces which would host a variety of music concerts. We worked in partnership with ROCKWOOL and the solution was bespoke 100mm thick Rockfon Color-all® black ceiling tiles in combination with 100mm ROCKWOOL FLEXI® overlay and 40mm thick Color-all panels together with 100mm or 160mm FLEXI for the walls.”

ROCKPANEL façade cladding contributes to revamping Manchester skyline

Four 1960’s council blocks were extensively refurbished in Collyhurst, both inside and out. Northwards Housing collaborated with main contractors Manchester Working Ltd on the ambitious retrofit, including structural repairs and the fitting of new windows, ROCKWOOL insulation and ROCKPANEL façade cladding. The ROCKPANEL Chameleon façade boards which seamlessly change colour depending on the angle of view or level of natural light were installed on two sides of the 13 storey blocks. The boards were not solely specified for the aesthetic benefits its products can offer, but also their sustainable credentials.

Dublin Apartments, the performance benefits to Magply boards have been utilised in the specification of an advanced offsite system being employed in the construction of a new apartment building.

The five storey building is being clad across different elevations with either the Permarock exterior wall insulation system or the Dutch manufactured Brickworld brick slip system. Both are on Rockwool material fixed to an outside layer of 9mm Magply sheathing which also provides an additional 1 hour fire protection to the structure from the outside. : “Overall the Magply is easy to cut and fix, while as an MgO product it can get wet as many times as you want. That helps with programme timing while the price-point also makes it very affordable compared to other fire safe products'.
