An entirely dry system utilising granulated Rockwool insulation blown into an external wall cavity to a predetermined density. No glues or catalysts are involved in the installation procedure. The system can be used for new or existing masonry cavity walls as well as certain types of non-traditional structures and is suitable for use in any UK exposure zone. Non-combustible, achieving a classification of A1 in accordance with BS EN 13501-1.

Rockwool insulation products do not contain blowing agents with an ozone depletion potential (ODP) or global warming potential (GWP), are CFC-HCFC-HFC free and 97% recyclable. They will not react with metal components or cause loss of plasticiser from PVC cables and pipes.

ROCKWOOL FirePro Firestop Compound

A specially formulated gypsum based product intended to provide a fire rated seal around service penetrations in fire rated walls and floors. Supplied as a powder to be mixed with water, the resulting compound is load bearing and provides a smoke seal and good acoustic insulation.

The compound is trowelled or poured around the service penetration and can be used in floors and walls.

Existing Firestop Compound installations can be easily drilled or sawn to allow the provision of additional or replacement services and subsequently re-sealed. Recommended minimum clearance between services and surrounding structure: 50 mm, or half the diameter, whichever is greater.

ROCKWOOL Firepro Intumescent Pillows

As part of the comprehensive FIREPRO range of fire protection products, ROCKWOOL Intumescent Pillows have been tested to BS 476: part 20 to provide up to 4 hours fire protection to metal services and cables passing through fire resisting compartment floors and walls.

Intumescent Pillows are simply packed tightly in between penetrating services and the wall. In a floor, pillows are additionally supported by means of a mesh support system.

Under fire conditions, Intumescent Pillows expand several times their original volume to form an effective seal around service penetrations.

Intumescent Pillows are suitable for use with:

  • Metal pipework.
  • Cable trays.
  • Electrical trunking (inside and outside).

ROCKWOOL Firepro Multi-Cable Firestop

A compressible fire retardant foam laminated both faces with a graphite based intumescent polymer, designed to fire stop cable bunches in electrical trunking and cable trays where they pass through fire rated walls and floors. To install, the product is simply cut to the required length and compressed between the cables and the surrounding trunking/ structure to form a tight seal.

ROCKWOOL FIREPRO Acoustic Intumescent Sealant

As part of the comprehensive FIREPRO® range of fire protection products, ROCKWOOL Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is suitable for sealing joints and service penetrations in fire walls, partitions, fire rated door frames and glazing systems This high specification product is designed to be used in joints with high movement capability or where they are formed between dissimilar substrates, for example, steel and masonry.

Acoustic Intumescent Sealant is a high specification, one part water based acrylic sealant. The sealant is extruded from a 310ml loaded cartridge into a standard sealant gun or a 600ml sausage loaded into a closed barrel sealant gun. The depth of the joint will depend on the gap to be filled and the fire rating required

The sealant is fast curing, approximately 15 minute tack free time. When fully cured the sealant can be overpainted.

Advantages:

  • All joints up to 40 mm wide.
  • Up to 4 hours fire protection.
