Michael Laird Architects approached Planet Partitioning to provide high acoustic partitioning screens and doors, across all 4 floors of the scheme, with an extra 5th floor secured upon completion, as a result of the impressive works Planet provided.With audio being the Client’s line of work, the office space not only included meeting rooms, open plan office space and break out areas, but also ‘Jam’ rooms and recording studios. Stringent acoustic attenuation was therefore called for, with PURE100 double glazed partitioning screens and IsoPro doors being used throughout the office and meeting areas, and PURE100 single glazing used in the break out spaces. By using the PURE100 range throughout, the scheme ensured the head and base details remained uniform across all 4 floors.For the Jam rooms and recording studios, Planet recommended specialist PURE200 triple glazed screens, which can achieve staggering acoustics of 64dB Rw, ensuring workers wouldn’t be disturbed while staff ‘rock out’!ech panels were integrated to the partitioning screens surrounding the meeting rooms, as an easy way to book the rooms remotely and to notify staff of when the rooms are booked, and by whom.Planet designed a bespoke ‘zig-zag’ glazed partitioning screen to run along the front of a section of offices. The completed effect was quite striking and greatly received by the client and architect.

The Royal College of Pathologists have relocated their London Headquarters to the rapidly changing area of Aldgate, on the Eastern fringes of the city. The new seven storey structure replaces an existing office block, providing a flexible and environmentally efficient building to house their growing needs. The building design includes major conference facilities, meeting rooms, offices, a multi-function auditorium, exhibition space, restaurant facilities and accommodation. Cordek were asked by the specialist concrete frame contractor Oliver Connell & Son to devise a formwork system to allow the construction of ribbed concrete floors.

They appointed HLW International, who specified Billi Taps for their main kitchen area, and another tea-point within the office space. Booking.com opted for Billi Quadra Plus 15. Alfresco Floors were commissioned by Frost Landscape Construction to supply and install the GRAD decking and rail systems, which were supported by the Buzon pedestal system. This was a particularly challenging project as steel planters were strategically located in the middle of the roof terrace so installation had to be carried out around the numerous planters. The finished outdoor space at 2-6 Cannon Street provides office workers with a unique roof top terrace.

Accessed with doors on the side, rather than face on, the walls absorb the depth of the cubicle, maintaining a spacious environment. The finished washroom boasted a fresh, contemporary space which met all initial requirements. The client was particularly pleased with “the sleek look of everything”.

Creating highly adaptable working space, Style has installed four Dorma moveable wall systems to the Berkshire offices of a world leading multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company. The semi-automatic partitions can be used to quickly divide a laboratory learning facility as well as office space, creating smaller areas or opening up the area as required. For this high-spec project, Style worked with architects, Perkins and Will, and contractor, Tetris Bluu. Finished in a blue fabric combined with magnetic white boards, the semi-automatic operation walls are both functional and practical.

In Clerkenwell, McLaren constructed a new office building with a basement to provide a total 97,000 sq ft of office space. McLaren utilized the existing basement structure which meant the exterior of the structure wasn't accessible. This meant that it was appropriate to use a cavity drain system. FIS worked closely with Henry Construction Projects and Veretec to provide a complete waterproofing service. Designing a system to fit around the existing structure was the challenge. When completed in November 2020, the office development, funded by Leicestershire County Council, is said to be the largest, single-occupier office deal in Leicestershire.The TECHNAL team were approached to offer specification solutions to suit the aesthetics and meet the technical requirements of the project. Designed around a central core with a linking wing either side, aluminium Curtain Walling spans vertically, with the facade also incorporating aluminium casement windows and doors.

Neaco’s structural glass balustrade forms part of the £10m project’s signature feature: a new central atrium which brings natural light into the heart of the building. As part of a broader development vision, 280 High Holborn seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with the historical charm of its surroundings.The ambitious project aimed at creating 100,000 sq ft of commercial office space, six adjacent apartments, and a retail presence in Mid-Town London. The design needed to be flexible, column-free, and capitalize on views over the historic Lincoln’s Inn Fields to the south. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the building into its urban context while providing a versatile and attractive environment for various uses.The building’s form optimizes its plan to blend with the adjacent townscape, offering an articulated floorplate that supports flexible space planning solutions. The mix of office, residential, and retail spaces necessitated the incorporation of flexible office floorplates that could be easily customized for different needs.In the pursuit of modernity and functionality, our contribution to 280 High Holborn involved the supply of bespoke metal riser doors. Concealed, fire-rated, and designed to be flush with the surroundings, these doors seamlessly integrate into the modern aesthetic of the building. Placed strategically throughout the structure, these doors contribute to the safety of the occupants while maintaining a sleek and unobtrusive appearance.The building’s floorplates offer a ceiling height of 2.7m clear, providing a versatile canvas for both open-plan and cellularized office configurations. Six apartments at the southern end capitalize on views over the Inns of Court, adding a residential component to the development. Additionally, a new civic space at the base of the building enhances engagement with the surrounding community.With a focus on sustainability, 280 High Holborn achieved a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, underlining its commitment to environmental performance and occupant well-being.

For the new office of one of the UK’s leading healthcare specialists, workplace interior design specialists, ID:SR – Sheppard Robson, specified the natural beauty of Forbo Flooring Systems’ Allura Flex Wood Luxury Vinyl Tiles (LVT) to help ‘bring the outside in’.  Occupying the first and second floor of a new seven-storey Grade A office building in Leeds, the healthcare specialist has brought over 250 staff together into one co-located environment. Expertly designed by ID:SR, the 25,000 sq ft space comprises a variety of agile work and social settings to support a range of activities, a dedicated client reception, meeting suite and lounge.   “To support employee wellbeing, the office also engages with the principles of biophilic design, so we incorporated natural looking materials where possible to emphasise the connection between people and nature. The beautiful and realistic wood effect of Forbo’s Allura Flex Wood LVT supported this idea of bringing the outside in. Offering convincing, authentic visuals and excellent functional performance, we used the finish in prominent positions of the office as we felt the flooring supported the overall concept of the scheme.”  Allura Flex Wood in the Weathered Oak colourway was fitted in a herringbone pattern with bursts of Seaweed Solid Oak, Charcoal Solid Oak and Smoke Solid Oak in the main reception and staff breakout areas. Thanks to its tackified installation, the high quality, dimensionally stable Allura Flex tiles provides answers to key issues such as limiting valuable downtime, the re-use of floors and minimising environmental impact, perfect for busy office spaces.  What’s more, Surestep Material in Cool Concrete was specified in the kitchenette of the staff breakout area, where there is an increased risk of slip. The safety flooring combines outstanding slip resistant properties with differentiated design and through the use of Step Crystals, the natural colourway offers a clean, fresh look and improved cleaning and maintenance properties. The PUR Pearl finish ensures that it is stain and chemical resistant.

With the business growing at a rapid rate, the firm has expanded its head office to a purpose-built facility which also incorporates a store, café, and an external garden centre.To make the most of its prominent location at the entrance to the new Seaton Hill development, the building was designed to showcase the brand’s iconic identity. The facade of the offices and warehouse are clad primarily in a palette of blacks and greys using Kingspan Dri-Design Flat Cassettes for the office element and QuadCore AWP Wall Panels for the large retail section. This neutral palette provides the perfect backdrop for more colourful facade elements of royal blue and bright orange which ‘pop out’ from the envelope, both literally and visually. These elements include a ribbon style wrapping which recreates a heart-beat reading and symbolises the HQ’s position as the “heartbeat of Derriford”. This dramatic treatment also helps to break-up the massing of the site.  Selecting all these materials from a single supplier also help to simply logistics, minimise onsite waste and ensure complete compatibility between the elevations.

This state-of-the-art office building located in the heart of the City of London is the new European headquarters for an international financial organisation.The 10-storey office building was the largest commercial fitout in 2019, housing up to 6000 members of staff with more than one million square feet of space. This modern building is truly unique and offers employees a range of facilities not usually seen in most office developments. Located within the building is an auditorium and conference centre, a health centre, a nursery and playcentre, a fully equipped gym, therapy rooms for sports massage and acupuncture, contemplation and resting rooms. As part of the project build multiple entrances needed to be secured, including the main reception, a gym and childcare centre, a cycle parking entrance and a contractors entrance. The client specified early in the project that all entrance solutions needed to be integrated with a contactless biometric readers, to ensure a high level of authentication. Whilst preventing unauthorised access to the building was crucial, the solution needed to complement the architectural intent and provide the smooth flow of authorised users passing through the prestigious building.

Perforated cladding panels like no other from Proteus Facades have helped to transform a defunct 1980s structure in the heart of London into a visually striking, contemporary commercial office space. Once described as unwelcoming and foreboding, York House in Kings Cross, which dates back to 1981, featured a complex brick façade, with a set back entrance and very small windows giving the building a stand-offish appearance as well as a poorly lit interior.Following a £13 million refurbishment, the building, purchased by The Office Group, which provides flexible workspaces in London, Leeds and Bristol, has been transformed into a bright, co-working space, suitable for London’s thriving and growing businesses.Designed by Architects dMFK, the 70,000sq. ft, eight storey redevelopment features both modern and traditional elements. An original Torigenus cast aluminium sculpture sits on the east side of the building, created by sculptor Geoffrey Clarke, whilst bold new additions include a double height entrance with offices above, as well as a set back roof extension and terrace on the 7th floor.
