The re-development by Liveman Properties has converted the Dock Office into a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with an additional 14 new duplex apartments constructed on the existing building roof. DV Architects, Liverpool, specified Technal’s MX Toggle Glazing curtain walling for the steel frame extension and Technal FY65 windows. Architect Billy Hodge commented, “The Dock Office is a local heritage asset and great care has been taken to make sure that the character of the building is not altered.

Our Allura Flex luxury vinyl tiles have been used to great effect in the new offices of Becherovka in the Centrum Stomovka shopping mall in Prauge. Becherovka is part of the Pernod Ricard group, one of the largest producers of spirits and wine in the world. CAPEXUS was given the task of creating an office with a more distinctive and prestigious appearance, one that would be comfortable, feature interesting materials and, last but not least, be practical. The unifying element of the new offices is a more industrial concept. Not to be overlooked is the open ceiling with its visible concrete beams and ducts. The Louvre Post Office is an iconic building in the 1st Arrondissement, in the heart of Paris. The purpose of the project is really to keep postal activities in the heart of Paris. It aims also to enhance the spatial qualities of this building with a mixed-use program. Effisus Ecofacade P-Fix and Effisus Pre-Fab TrueSeal were integrated at this project. The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) collects and supplies data to the Royal Navy and merchant shipping to help protect lives at sea. Designed by AHR Architects, the new headquarters in Taunton took inspiration from the theme of ‘Seabed to Surface’ with strata and water currents heavily influencing the aesthetic design. To maintain the high level of finish and linear aesthetic, the architect specified INTRAflex XT at each of the five entrances with a varying combination of INTRAlux Elite in Anthracite and ribbed rubber. A refurbishment at Amtico’s Coventry Office, which is home to its design team and specialist manufacturing facility, provided the perfect opportunity to showcase the company’s flooring expertise and product variety.

When award-winning office design company Oktra moved to its new HQ in London, Amtico’s Signature and Spacia LVT collections were chosen to create talking points in the multifunctional office meets showroom space.

Troldtekt’s acoustic wood wool panels have helped interior design company Ambiente to win Nohrcon’s annual Danish ‘Office Building of the Year Award’ with its own office in Skanderborg, Denmark.  Created in collaboration with architect Ardess, the new 11,500sqm headquarters for this well-known interior design and exhibition stand company has unique features set within a raw and rustic environment and behind a minimalistic black steel façade. The centrepiece of the office is a 1,000sqm open external atrium which is overlooked by every department to develop a sense of bonding and equality between the tradespeople in production to the designers and sales team at their desks.  “The goal was to create something unique where high ceilings and spaciousness within a raw concrete frame would be a source of inspiration for both employees and clients,” says Ambiente owner and creative director Michael Skjodt. Consequently, the decor and spaces are designed to release creative ideas and build them up together with the customer.  The result is raw concrete floors and walls with 6.5m high ceilings contrasting against 18 staggered White City cubes, as they are called. These bright white rooms are used to stimulate creativity from meetings, exhibitions, showrooms and offices.  Black painted Troldtekt acoustic ceiling panels which have a natural rugged and uncomplicated appearance are used throughout the open areas and, when combined with long and heavy curtains, give the space an intimate and quiet atmosphere. Paxton10 Provides Expandable, Cost-effective Security Solution for Newly Refurbished Offices.The Corsham Street building in Shoreditch, East London has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and modernisation by its owners. The site currently functions as a multi-occupancy space, housing a gym and multiple offices. These spaces are rented on short or long-term contracts to a variety of businesses.

The prestigious law firm Mills & Reeve has refurbished its Norwich brand to create a smart office environment that incorporates a homely feel, using three shades of Allura Wood LVT from Forbo Flooring Systems. Mills & Reeve's new office was designed by architects Feilden + Mawson and has subsequently won the Highly commended prize in Fly Forbo 2017/2018.

Ideas for space-saving furniture for your home office.

Banco Santander, one of Spain’s largest banks, decided to refresh their corporate image and refurbish their establishments into a more modern and open environment. The goal was to create “The Office of the Future”; an office with a more accessible, agile and friendly atmosphere. This was practically achieved by eliminating architectural barriers and thereby creating a more open working environment. This enabled a more personal interaction with their clients, and the chance to better nurture a long-term relationship.

With more than 70 specialists working for big clients such as Signify, Royal Philips and AkzoNobel, digital marketing agency intoAction (becoming iO) had outgrown their old office building. A former shoe factory offered much more space and as a shell and core delivery, it providing complete creative freedom for the agency. With Rockfon as one of its customers, the acoustic element was a priority at the outset of the renovation.

Corner Block is a high quality and prominent multi-let office asset located in the bustling centre of Manchester. When the design studio, appointed by the developer APAM, required the highest quality flooring for the workspaces within the office areas, they turned to international flooring specialist Gerflor to assist with the much-needed refurbishment. Gradus new Lunar Carpet tile collection in the ‘Moretus’ design was specified, with over 300m2 installed suiting the complex and its users perfectly.

The roofs of The Dungannon & South Tyrone Borough Council offices had fallen into a poor condition and a large amount of standing water was threatening to leak into the offices below. With the office roof areas in such a poor state, the council turned to Polyroof to refurbish nearly 1,000 square metres of roof, split into 13 areas, before they fell into a further state of disrepair. DTL Construction, a local Polyroof Approved Contractor, were tasked with installing the Protec System, removing the issue of standing water and giving the roof a long service life, whilst giving the council peace of mind that leaks would not pose an issue in future.The standing water was cleared before the existing roof materials were stripped back in order to install the new system. This allowed a new warm-roof system to be installed, along with new cut-to-falls insulation. Polyroof’s Protec Cut-to-Falls insulation is an innovative two-layer system which doesn’t only improve thermal performance, it also directs standing water away from the roof.Following this, the BBA-approved Protec system was used to seamlessly waterproof the entirety of the office roofs. The system, once inspected by Polyropof’s Technical Services team, was issued with a 20-year guarantee, so the client could now have reassurance their roof would last for decades to come.

My Design, an architecture and interior design studio, uses ESCREO whiteboard paint to design comfortable, organised and creative home offices. They share that "just as we have not deprived ourselves of the comforts of the modern world, so we want to expand the field of useful materials, surfaces and useful ideas". A traditional whiteboard raises some issues that whiteboard paint does not and one can still write on and wipe off as much as they would like. FORBO’S INTEGRATED FLOORING HELPS TO REFURBISH FLEXIBLE WORKSPACE  Forbo Flooring Systems’ contemporary range of floor coverings were specified by Momentum, a leading furniture expert based in Cardiff, to create a warm and vibrant hybrid working space for Newydd Housing Association. Forbo’s Tessera carpet tiles, Allura Luxury Vinyl Tiles, Coral entrance flooring system and Surestep safety flooring were all used.   Founded in 1974, Newydd Housing Association is a charitable housing association that offers 3,000 affordable homes for rent and sale. With properties based around South and mid Wales, Newydd Housing Association seeks to help those with the greatest need to find a home. Momentum worked with the housing association to refurbish their existing office spaces to create an environment that inspired a new hybrid style of working.  Momentum designed the whole refurbishment and specified all the materials used, as Rhian Worgan, Interior Designer at Momentum, explains: “After securing the tender for the design of Newydd’s offices, we were asked to create a space that supported and inspired the new hybrid way of working that many offices have adopted post-Covid. Newydd really wanted to achieve a flexible and adaptable environment, so that any future changes could be made at minimal cost and with little disruption.   “One of the first things they had asked us to do was to remove any designated areas for teams or individuals. This was to encourage the sharing of information between staff in collaborative spaces. We replaced these areas with zones that supported a variety of tasks, like desk work, formal and informal meetings, brainstorming and more. The idea behind the whole design and layout of the office was that the employees would choose the area that supported the task at hand on any given day.”  However, it wasn’t just the zoning of the office that was important, Newydd desired a workspace that was warm, vibrant and welcoming for its employees. With this in mind, Rhian spent a lot of time finding the right way to subtly incorporate the branding that represented Newydd’s ethos and values, as she explains: “For me it was really important we got the colours we used right. We really wanted to make this a space that employees could explore their creativity and problem solving in and not a traditional, bland workspace. For this reason, it was key to find the right colours and materials to convey this feeling.  “This was part of the reason I specified Forbo’s flooring, there’s such a wide range of products, I knew there would be something that would fit what we were looking for.”  Forbo’s Tessera Chroma and Cloudscape carpet tiles made up the majority of the flooring space across the three-floor office building. Rhian talked about this specification, saying: “I really like Forbo’s Tessera carpet tiles, as they have this beautiful naturally inspired palette that complemented our design plan. We used the Tessera Cloudscape in Grey Dawn extensively across all three floors in the circulation areas and for one of the meeting rooms, due to their thick pile height and sound reduction qualities. It also has this beautiful mixture of greys that create a serene feeling to the floor. We used this product alongside Forbo’s Tessera Chroma in the Chanterelle colourway in the main office space, using the Cloudscape tiles to create geometric shapes embedded into the larger flooring scheme.   “We then used Tessera Chroma in the Pasture, Nautical, Blossom and Mineral colourways. These were installed in the different meeting pods and dedicated call rooms where we matched them to the paint scheme on the walls. It just added this pop of colour, which broke up the greys used in the circulation areas and main office space. Chroma was perfect for these areas, due to the sheer number of colourways available to choose from, as well as it’s underfoot comfort.”  Not only this, but Tessera Chroma has a 26 dB sound reduction, making it perfect for the meeting room pods that are connected side-by-side, stopping noise from distracting those outside or next door.   Furthermore, Forbo’s Allura LVT was specified across the refurbishment and was laid in a Herringbone pattern. Rhian continued: “We specified Forbo’s Allura planks to break-up the carpet tiles we had already used quite heavily across the scheme. We needed something that we could install easily and wouldn’t look out of place in the eating areas. We went for the Light Honey Oak colourway as it is very light and has a lovely grain embossing to it.”  Forbo’s Allura LVT was also used in the Mist Texture colourway for the ground floor entranceway.   With the hybrid nature of Newydd’s office they expected to see a lot of footfall, so it was important that an entrance flooring system was installed to protect the interior floor coverings, by preventing dirt and moisture from being brought inside. Rhian said: “We also had Forbo’s Coral entrance flooring system installed in the front entrance in the Shark Grey colourway, which complemented the Allura LVT installed in the foyer nicely. Having an effective entrance flooring system meant the rest of the office would stay looking better for longer, something which is important for an office where people are being encouraged to move around and work in a hybrid fashion.”   With its R10 slip rating, ensuring staff stay safe whilst using the onsite facilities, Forbo’s Surestep safety flooring was also specified for the ground floor bathroom and showers in the Star colourway.  Rhian concluded: “We’re delighted with the way the office space has come together, as are Newydd themselves! I’ve worked with Forbo on many projects in the past and trust the products to do what we need them to. What has been the true impact of 12 months of remote working on UK office staff? A recent YouGov poll by bathroom designer and manufacturer Geberit shows a workforce missing their colleagues and longing for a return to face-to-face meetings. With more than half of us missing the work-life balance that the office offers, its findings also reveal very little resistance from staff when faced with the prospect of a return to the office. Here, Sophie Weston, channel marketing manager at Geberit, reveals more about its insight and the impact of hygiene in the office moving forward – especially the washroom.

Landmark Arnhem was an almost-vacant landmark office building located on the A235 which has been totally transformed into a vibrant multi-tenant space.

Two hundred modules of the VELUX Modular Skylight system were installed as part of an innovative lighting and ventilation strategy led by BAM Construction and AHR Architects for the Ministry of Defence’s new UK Hydrographic Office. Modularised and prefabricated, the modular skylights simplified a complex specification for natural daylight, first-class ventilation, and modern aesthetics in a central atrium area at the heart of the new development.
