Much of it built in the early 20th century, Islington Square is the transformation of the Royal Mail’s North London Mail Centre. The 4.5 acre complex features a breathtaking development characterised by three statement residential buildings. Islington Square is a love letter to the original great post office buildings.With debonair charm and à la mode finishes within each of the apartments, new life has been breathed into this Edwardian-meets-21st-century development. Majestic were invited to supply Ponente and Rio screens as well as fully recessed Odessa sliding doors.

In 2016 Imperial College London acquired the neighbouring disused Royal Mail Post Sorting Office.
Architects Pascall+Watson specified secondary glazing to improve their performance. Over seven different types were installed to match the varying styles; large sweeping curved headed casements were treated with matching sightline Series 41 side hung casements, tall traditional box sash windows were treated with Series 20 and 25 vertical sliding units.
Obscurity glass was specified, to prevent distractions for the researchers and staff. The windows overlooking the busy thoroughfares of Exhibition Road and Imperial College Road were fitted with a cavity to provide added acoustic insulation.

F. Ball’s high performance subfloor preparation and adhesive products have been used to renovate the floor of a 160m2 school hall at Christ Church CE Primary School in Kent.
A combination of Stopgap 600 deep section base compound and Stopgap 200 Smooth acrylic floor smoothing underlayment was used over a Stopgap Waterproof Surface Membrane, firstly to build up the subfloor to the required thickness and then create a smooth, durable surface on which the final floorcovering could be laid. Styccobond F46 pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive was used to secure the vinyl Polyflor XL floorcovering to the finished subfloor...

In addition to being involved with the paved roof terraces within the new Pheonix Place development, Ryno worked directly with Broadway Malyan Architects to come up with a decking solution for the private balconies.System UsedTerraSmart® Aluminium was used across each of the balconies, with RD-FR adjustable decking pedestals and joist supporting over 2000m2 of sleek aluminium deck boards. A total of 31 Flexirol Straight Sliding systems were installed as room dividers in the Presidential Suite and as sliding doors in the hotel’s conference rooms. Soltaire 120 hardware was employed in the grand ballroom, with two sets of our Securefold 150 folding door systems fitted in the hotel’s restaurant.
Phase 1 of the build also included the installation of 32 Husky 100 sliding door hardware systems, complete with soft close mechanisms, in rooms for the hotel’s branded residences. The 2nd phase of the development will see the fit out of 143 rooms within the same tower.

Recently opened, the Engine Shed is Scotland’s dedicated building conservation centre, based in Stirling. Working with contractor, ESH Border and architect Reiach & Hall, Style Scotland installed a Skyfold operable wall to quickly separate the exhibition space from the auditorium, allowing educational seminars to be conducted in privacy whilst the rest of the space remains open to the public. Skyfold, a hugely innovative partitioning solution, is a vertical-rising moveable wall that retracts into the ceiling cavity at the turn of a key, creating an acoustic barrier of up to 59dB Rw.

We were selected by Lend Lease to be the supplier of the architectural ironmongery, mailboxes and signs for the scheme in 2009 and worked closely with Bryden Wood who were the architects appointed to coordinate the internal elements. The scheme comprised of eleven blocks that were used to accommodate the 17,000 athletes during the games and have now been converted into 2,500 apartments.
Smart fire prevention system installed in Liverpool new build student accommodation

Bowline in Renshaw Street, Liverpool is a new development; a combination of student accommodation and apart-hotel rooms. Liverpool City Council approved the demolition of the existing Renshaw Hall building and the construction of the hotel and an 11-storey block of student accommodation; 49 clusters totalling 357 bedrooms with shared kitchen/lounge; and 47 self contained studios. The students communal facilities include a sky lounge, private dining room, fitness studio, karaoke room, and cinema room.Multiple residents in a building means more food being cooked and a higher risk of kitchen cooking fires. The Firechief Kitchen Stove Guard was fitted in all kitchen areas to help keep all the residents in the building safer. A fire on an induction hob can start in just 1.5 to 2 minutes and a fire on a traditional electric hob within 6 minutes.

It is about putting people’s safety first in how we plan for, design, build, maintain, and look after the safety of the buildings we live, work or play in and protect those that use them.THE PRODUCTSLB’s 2 hour Fire-rated mailboxes were used on this project at Cambridge Road, London for a large Housing Association and arranged on a radius, providing an interesting yet highly functional arrangement of 2-hour integrity only fully tested mailboxes. The Fire-rated range from SLB is tested at Exova Warrington and exceeds 2 hours in temperatures beyond that of molten lava without distortion, flame or deterioration. This system was polyester powder coated in a burnt orange RAL colour, powder used conforms to London Underground specifications.This arrangement is also comprised of manual parcelboxes positioned underneath with a manual locking option.

Accoya® wood, used as screening for the building, illustrates to perfection the hard-wearing and practical elements of this work wear brand. Roggemann, Accoya’s German and Polish distributor, supplied 500 m2 of Accoya® for the project. The Accoya wood was additionally coated with a transparent stain to highlight its natural beauty.

THE LOCATIONThis brand-new build to rent development is situated along the Canning Dock in the centre of Liverpool. It’s the perfect location as it has loads of amenities close by with the shopping centre a couple of minutes down the road. The award-winning building has an unmissable appearance and a modern feel throughout the building.THE PROJECTDesigned by award-winning architect Leach Roach Walker, The Copper House spans 16 floors and is home to 383 one, two and three bedroom apartments, all available for rent. The apartments are designed to the highest specifications of modern city living to provide comfort and stunning views, with an abundance of natural light. The Safety Letterbox Company and the copper house have a long-running partnership and were the perfect choice to build a mail and parcel solution for their residents. Whilst working in the build to rent industry copper house realised the importance of having a parcel solution in their building.THE PRODUCTThe Safety Letterbox Company worked alongside the interior designer to create a new corner system that maximized the efficiency of the building. The copper house also wanted a mail and parcel solution that could be extended if needed in the future, making the solution perfect for future-proofing the building.The team went for 400 steel 2 letterboxes in multiple sizes in order to fill their mail needs. The steel 2 boxes were banked on a hidden table supports and were engraved with gravel gold infill which gave the combination system and direct contrast which gave it a high-end look. This product is future-proofed with the option to add on in the future if needed.Copper House also added myRENZbox to make sure they could manage their Parcel deliveries. The myRENZbox modular had seven extensions with different size doors in order to maintain their parcel deliveries. The Safety Letterbox Company has an algorithm to work out how many parcel boxes a building requires. myRENZbox was polyester powder coated with the colour RAL 7026 Granite Grey with a finished Gloss. Copper House also opted for a barcode scanner to help deliveries become more efficient. MyRENZboxes has also futureproofed Copper House with the option to extend the myRENZbox in the future.

The Outdoor Deck Company have been commissioned to supply and install premium grade Ipe timber decking for the eleven Penthouse roof-top gardens, which include `endless` swimming pools and private decked entertaining areas.

Radii’s elegant double glazed Parallel 50 (45dB RW) and Parallel 100 (50dB RW) partitions with single glazed pivoting doors was used for Marsh McLennan’s office fronts, meeting rooms and larger ‘project rooms’ along with retro-fit room booking and aluminium faced tech units.Parallel 100 was also utilised with pocket sliding doors for the Level 6 conference rooms, while 4490mm high Parallel 100 extended screens were installed to the East Thames Room on Level 6 and conference rooms. This required structural steel work to support both the weight of the glass above the transom and the hanging weight of a folding wall below by others. Linear 59 (39dB Rw) with bi-parting sliding doors was used on small meeting hubs on Level 6.

The former Royal Mail owned building at 160 Old Street, London, utilises 'blue roof' SuDS attenuation and biodiverse roofs and/or composite decking, retrofitted on 16 out of 29 different roof zones across multiple levels.The ABG blueroof system was specified to slow surface water run-off during key extreme rainfall events, in line with planning consent requirements for the provision of SuDS. The roof level storm water attenuation system was deemed the most cost-effective solution for the restricted urban site and avoided the need for an expensive and carbon intensive basement attenuation tank.

This has involved us fitting out the facilities in situ at ModuleCo’s manufacturing facility, so they’re ready to deliver to hospitals around the country. The modular buildings we have fitted out include operating theatres, reception areas and consulting rooms, which are assembled offsite at the ModuleCo factory, and then delivered to the hospital location and put straight to use.
