Introducing the Fire Rated FR1 mailbox suitable for vertically storing A4 mail for front entry and retrieval. The FR1 mailbox has been developed to restrict the spread of fire for up to two hours only and if recessed into a fire rated
wall, will maintain the integrity of the fire rated wall for up to two hours. Fire Rated mailboxes include several specially developed features to meet Fire Rating standards BS EN 1363-1: 2012 which outline fire testing on building

The H1 mailbox is an in front/ out front suitable for projects where there is a restricted amount of vertical space avilable. The H1 mailbox is suitable for use in both internal and external locations (external fitting requires additional weather cladding).
The mailbox conforms to EN 13724 standards, the guidelines set out in the Secured by Design Homes 2016 Guide (requires use of an additional gap restrictor or extended internal bridge) and Class 0 (BS476:Part 6 & 7) fire standards.
The H1 mailbox is suitable for wall recessing, wall mounting or freestanding installation. A number of accessories are available including colourful identification labels, engraving, vinyl lettering, freestanding posts and aperture restrictors.

The Fire Rated 3 mailbox includes several specially developed features to meet Fire Rating standards BS EN 1363-1: 2012 which outline fire testing on building structures. The lock included in the Fire Rated 3 Mailbox uses a fire cover to limit the access for fire to the mailbox lock. The Fire Rated 3 Mailbox flap uses an inward sprung hinge to stop the flap from falling out of the box and the mailbox aperture uses an intumescent seal which expands when exposed to a large increase in temperature; closing the gap and restricting the flow of oxygen into the mailbox.

- Rasgas: Incoming Rasgas mail would be posted into individual mailboxes via a letterflap and then retrieved by the recipient of the mail via a digital locking system. This would have the effect of cutting out the use of keys and increasing security when using the mailbox (as codes could be changed and updated as employees left the company).

Fire Rated Mailboxes - Two Hour integrity

An overview of the new range of Fire Rated Mailboxes with Two Hour Integrity.
FR1, FR2 & FR3, three fire rated mailbox models had already been tested by Warrington Fire to the previous BS 476 Part 22: 1987 standard, which meant that they had all achieved a 60-minute fire rating.
We wanted to extend the test to 2 hours to ensure that the area commonly used as an evacuation point was capable of holding back a fire or containing a fire.
To achieve this, we sent our fire rated mailboxes to Warrington Fire for a 120-minute integrity only test. In October 2019 and October 2020 we tested these mailboxes at Warrington Fire as singles and as banks in order to see exactly how they would perform in a fire situation. On both occasions they passed the 2 hour test with no failures.
