The goal for this residential dwelling in Salcombe was to create a completely unique space, nestled into the cliff-side to provide a feeling of comfort and seclusion, while maximising the views over the estuary. To achieve this, ten Reynaers aluminium lift-and-slide doors, alongside aluminium windows and single-entrance doors were installed. The aluminium frames provide the strength and stability required for large expanses of glazing, while delivering required pascal ratings to resolutely stand up to enduring winds and harsh coastal conditions. Pre-anodized paint adds further durability to protect the property from the elements.

Union Industries, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-speed industrial doors, has supported a project at West Midlands manufacturer, Donghua Ltd, to eradicate heat loss from its warehouse, with the installation of a pair of its Bulldoor Rapid Rise Doors.

After a £2m refurbishment programme, the British Motor Museum recently opened its stunning new hospitality and event facility. A showcase area, the Sky Suite boasts magnificent panoramic views over the Warwickshire countryside. Delivering flexibility to the suite, partitioning expert Style, was contracted to install two Dorma Hüppe Variflex semi-automatic, glazed moveable walls. Allowing the area to be quickly adapted to meet the needs of the day, the toughened glass panels are manually manoeuvred along a whisper-quiet tracking system. Once in place, powerful seals automatically expand to exactly the required pressure to ensure optimum acoustic integrity between the divided areas.

Hannah Cecil-Harden is a director at de Gournay, a family business which was founded by her father, Claud Cecil Gurney. De Gournay makes the most beautiful hand-painted wallpapers and fabrics and the company’s work is found in some of the finest buildings around the world. As you would expect, every room of Hannah’s London home has been exquisitely decorated. The property has undergone many transformations in the time that Hannah has lived there, but the most recent changes were needed to accommodate her expanding family. Hannah and her husband wanted their house to work better for life with their four young children.All the floors of the house have been updated, but perhaps the biggest change was turning the existing basement into a playroom with adjoining utility and bathroom. Having worked with Hannah and the team at de Gournay on a previous project, Clement was delighted to be asked to manufacture the new steel doors that were included within the designs. We were excited that the new steel doors were to be painted in unique vibrant colours to match the stunning wallpapers that adorn the new space and we worked closely with Hannah and her team to find just the right match. We always say that our bespoke steel products can be painted in specialist hues from across the entire colour spectrum – these doors demonstrate what is possible!Hannah said: “I thoroughly enjoyed working with Clement Windows on this exciting project which was for a children’s playroom. Located in the commercial heart of Belfast, Donegall Place, formerly a bank building, has been part of the city landscape for over 50 years. The bulk of the project, spread over seven large blocks, used DucoWall Basic to provide plant screening. One element, where higher level glazing needs privacy screening from the walkways below, DucoWall Classic W 50Z is installed inverted so that the areas gain maximum light without sacrificing privacy. Another challenge was to incorporate louvre doors into the plant screening areas without interrupting the aesthetic appearance. It was a pleasure for all involved to work on this outstanding project, an original Arts and Crafts home which has been impeccably refurbished.The recent works included extending the house, as well as opening up and changing the layout. The interior has been modernised with a contemporary touch, but cleverly retains and enhances the home’s character. The interior design of the whole home is stunning. The bedrooms and bathrooms have been individually designed and are unique to their user. Mural wallpapers, vibrant pops of colour and striking, high quality fixtures and fittings help achieve this.A combination of leaded EB20 steel windows and W40 steel doors with genuine T bars were chosen to replace the external fenestration. The new windows and doors have slim, elegant frames but bring the benefit of improved thermal efficiency and security. Internally, a bespoke W20 door screen has been used to divide the kitchen and dining area.Both the client and architect are delighted with the outcome. 'The Portal' is a new £16 million public services hub in Ellesmere Port, delivered by Vinci Construction UK for Cheshire West and Chester Council. The new facility will be home to more than 500 council and public sector staff, a Job Centre Plus and a Citizen’s Advice Bureau.The building has been constructed with many environmentally friendly elements including solar panels, air source heat pump and electric vehicle charging points. The Portal’s envelope is wrapped at the top and bottom with an attractive, copper coloured metal cladding and a newly formed public realm area will surround the exterior, with bench seating and green landscaped sections.Internally, 'The Portal' consists of large open plan working areas with smaller subsection meeting rooms, break out and kitchen spaces which are present on each level and a main central staircase for circulation.Metal Technology Ltd supplied its 10-35Hi+ commercial entrance doors and System 17 capped curtain walling for the large, glazed sections of the build to approved fabricator and installer RED Systems Limited.Due to open its doors in Spring, it’s fantastic to have been involved in this state-of-the-art, commercial project, which is a catalyst for the wider Ellesmere Port Town Centre regeneration master plan.

Georgina and Matt were undertaking a refurbishment to their family home in Surrey, including a new annexe, when they approached us about our range of timber windows and doors.The age of the original building dated back to the 16th century, with both Regency and Edwardian additions, and so finding timber windows that helped to retain and enhance the original character of the property was a priority.Spring Sash windows from the Conservation Range were recommended for most of the home, featuring concealed pre-tensioned balances. This offered Georgina classic period styling but also ensured the house benefitted from the high performance offered by a modern double-glazed window.Conservation Range Casement windows were used for the rest of the property, alongside Spring Sash products offering traditional sightlines - ideal for period properties.Georgina also wanted to ensure that the new outbuildings retained a traditional look, so we created a bespoke ‘sunrise’ feature window to give it interest and kept the styling in line with the rest of the renovation.Antique brass ironmongery and a ‘Wimbourne White’ paint finish, complements the classic look throughout.Georgina explains;“When I approached Mumford & Wood, I told them I felt a ‘Jane Austen’ period feel would fit well with the main era of the house. After witnessing the quality and elegant style of the Conservation Range at their London showroom, I felt confident that my Regency vision with a mixture of Spring Sash and Casement windows could be fulfilled, and I was thrilled with the end result. At 13 storeys high and with a central location that puts the development within easy reach of Glasgow’s main universities, the True Glasgow student accommodation scheme has been designed by KKA Architects. Comprising 315 apartments for both shared and single occupancy, the new True Glasgow scheme on New City Road has been designed to offer inspirational student accommodation. With each apartment offering light and spacious living and study areas, the development also includes an array of exciting communal facilities including a gym and cinema. To balance the scheme’s city centre location, access to greenspaces has been incorporated through the creation of a rooftop garden and a walled courtyard garden at ground level.Specified to provide daylighting and give far-reaching views of the city, Senior’s thermally-efficient SPW600e tilt and turn aluminium windows were installed to the individual apartments. The main façade also benefits from the slim sightlines of Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain walling, which has been fabricated in a combination of different capping options to create a unique façade design. As a vertical capped option, the slimline curtain wall features a specially designed toggle system which is used horizontally to create externally frameless transoms and to complement the height of the building structure. Over 300 Optima casement windows and 60 doors from Profile 22 were used in a new 85-bed care home and 45 assisted living apartments in Sutton Coldfield. Background The Sutton Rose development in Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield is a new build 85-bed care home with 45 assisted living apartments. The developer is renowned for delivering exceptional quality projects, which means suppliers have to meet exacting standards and quality specifications. The window and door contract were awarded to Sutton Designs in Kingstanding, Birmingham, with manufacturing undertaken by Profile 22’s Approved Commercial Manufacturer, Central Window Systems in West Bromwich. The two companies had worked on previous care projects, which meant that as well as being able to demonstrate their ability to meet the tender requirements for this project they also brought a proven track record. The window specification The window and door system specified for the project was award-winning Optima from Profile 22, a fully-integrated 70mm system which offers a step-change in advanced window design. The high-specification system comes with an impressive set of credentials and design flexibility to meet all commercial project requirements. In this project, all windows were fitted with open-out restrictors for the safety or the residents and all window and doors needed to comply with fire and smoke escape protection measures. Optima offers market-leading structural strength and high-security features and casement windows are PAS24:2016 approved as standard which was important to meet the project specification. The windows and doors were manufactured in Anthracite Grey on White to match other developments in building contractor’s portfolio and create a sleek, modern aluminium aesthetic. A carefully managed installation process Sutton Designs is an experienced new build and commercial window installation company and has worked with Central Window Systems for over three years. The two companies worked in close partnership to ensure all windows and doors were manufactured and installed to the required timescales. The project was completed during the Covid-19 pandemic, which meant appropriate health and safety considerations also needed to be taken into account. An impressive new elder care development The completed project will provide modern and well-equipped homes for the residents. The owners of this four storey, semi-detached, Victorian home have totally transformed it to create a wonderful, contemporary space, full of character, colour and texture.The works undertaken included the demolition of the existing lower ground conservatory and the construction of a full width rear extension. The new space provides a large kitchen, dining and sitting area, but also retains the connection to the front snug. A two storey extension was formed along the side return, providing a boot room and utility space on the lower ground level and a cloakroom and WC on the upper ground level. A bespoke, black steel door screen from the Clement EB24 range was designed to form a glazed elevation facing onto the raised garden from the kitchen. The feature doors, along with other elements, such as the wide oak timber flooring, Bauwerk painted walls and a specialist kitchen provided by Daulby and Tickle, have created an incredible result.The Architect, Daniel Harris said “We’ve worked with Clement Windows on several residential projects, this one being the most complex. The process from initial sketch design through to installation was excellent. Clement produced highly detailed drawings and were very responsive throughout the development of the design. The installation team worked in close collaboration with the Contractor and ensured all elements of the openings were prepared and ready for installation. The end result was an extremely high quality and complex product installed with very low tolerances to an impeccable standard.”Photograph: GG Archard

The canvas was auctioned to raise money for NHS charities and organisations, raising a total £16.8m.Part of these funds have been used to improve the facilities, and this is where Landscape Architects Strata Design and West End Construction were engaged, to design and build a rooftop oasis for all the hospital staff, to have a place to enjoy and unwind.Solution: Working collaboratively and having surveyed the site where a window was to be turned into a door, FAAC Entrance Solutions proposed a framed SL500 bi-parting sliding door, in order to both maximise the opening width as well as keep the natural light into the building. Being a staff restricted area, access control was also a must, so this was integrated with existing staff passes to facilitate swipe access and with our QFlow traffic light system which regulates occupancy. The SL500’s framed system is a robust resilient door, making it perfect to manage high volumes of traffic as well Southampton coastal wind loads. Able Canopies were commissioned by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to produce five bespoke canopies at Oaklands School in Tower Hamlets, London. These canopy installations were part of a major Building Schools for Future (BSF) project managed by Bouygues (UK) Ltd to refurbish parts of the school and construct a new building at the site. The canopies were crucial to bringing the whole look and feel of the refurbished site together and so communication, teamwork and painstaking attention to detail were vitally important to ensure a successful installation.

Planet used p100 demountable double-glazed screens for all the classroom frontages and set black laminated timber classroom doors, and for the offices, 30-minuet fire-rated glass doors into our white aluminium slimline door frames. P20 single-glazed demountable partitioning features in the library and sixth form, which includes a gap between each panel of glass, an aesthetic feature to complement the internal atrium glazing. Eclipse sliding doors were used throughout. Planet's Architectural Glass' in-house design team worked with Aedas to make sure the angled atrium glass was in line with the design intent.

Onyx Apartments is an 11-storey building located on the Regent’s Canal banks, offering 117 bespoke homes. The development was designed as a modern, elegant and professional living environment. Comfort and safety were top priorities in bringing this project to life and Reynaers products were used to realise those aims. CS 86 ‘High Insulated’ aluminium window system offers an energy-efficient option, and CP 155 ‘Lift and Slide’ aluminium door system creates maximum glazed areas while also maintaining comfort. The St Thomas’ Hospital, part of the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, is adding to the services of the Evelina Hospital by including this Care Unit on their South Wing.With the views across the River Thames overlooking the Houses of Parliament, this project incorporates a vast range of SDS products; SDS DFendoor doorsets, Defend wall protection, and the artistic combined use of Defend and hydroclean PVC sheeting. The great combination of design, product and craftsmanship has resulted in a spectacularly fun project.Two different types of PVC sheeting were used on this project, Defend; with its cashmere impact resistant finish and Hydroclean; which possesses a smooth hygienic finish. The combination of these different textured sheets provides a visually unique result. The curves and angles had to be surveyed in detail to ensure the intricate jointing was a perfect match; SDS Image Series – Inlay. The Defend cashmere textured sheet was also used for digital printing of more complex designs, creating SDS Image Series.
