Application

Topflow concrete is specifically designed to flow easily through highly congested, heavily reinforced areas. Can be used in most applications which require a ready-mix concrete, including:

  • Slabs (including for industrial applications).
  • Domestic floors.
  • Mezzanines.
  • Mass fill pours.
  • Residential or commercial foundations.
  • Commercial slabs.
  • Complex formwork.
  • Trenches.
  • Structural toppings.
  • NHBC block and beam systems.
  • Suspended slabs.

Description

Topflow uses innovative mix technology to combine the benefits of two properties; fluidity and stability. Fluidity is essential to provide easy concrete placement and a high quality finish with minimum effort. Stability is necessary to prevent segregation. Collectively this provides a free-flowing, self-compacting concrete. It is easy to place with fewer pour points, less formwork, reduced manpower, no vibration, excellent surface finish and good workability.

Topflow comes in several different variants including Topflow Architectural, Topflow Horizontal and Topflow Trenchflow.

  • Topflow lower carbon mixes - Topflow self compacting concretes are available with cement replacement technology for a reduced carbon footprint.
  • Topflow Horizontal - for faster construction and exceptional surface finish on floor slabs without the need for power floating. Floor finish tolerance to BS 8204-1 SR2.
  • Topflow Architectural - provides exceptional quality on vertical applications with no remedial work. Placing techniques and strength can also be tailored to suit project requirements. Topflow Architectural uses advanced technology for the highest surface quality. The high fluidity of this concrete mix replicates the shape and texture of formwork to match complex design applications.
  • Topflow Trenchflow - for faster construction of foundations. Can be formulated to meet up to DC-3 sulphate resistance classification. Lower carbon mixes with cement replacement technology are also available.

Features and benefits:

  • Designed to meet the demands of any type of construction.
  • Self-compacting properties make Topflow Concrete suitable for any job with areas of difficult access or complex formwork configurations.
  • Can be designed with either 10 mm or 20 mm coarse aggregate depending upon application required and also maximum 25% recycled aggregate when available.
  • Supplied with cementitious replacement as standard.
  • Low-heat and high sulphate resistance mixes available.
  • Reduced labour – due to the ease of placement, large pour sizes are achievable with reduced labour and plant requirements.
  • Health and Safety – reduced labour and plant requirements lead to reduced health and safety hazards.
  • No vibration – with no vibration, the problem of vibration white finger is eliminated.
  • Noise – eliminating traditional methods of placing and finishing concrete reduces noise, which is particularly important in inner-city and built-up residential areas.
  • Flexible placing – ideal for jobs with difficult access or where longer pumping distances are involved.
  • Flexible supply – available from all Tarmac ready mix plants.
  • Waterproof – can be supplied with an integral waterproofing admixture.
  • Free-flowing and self-compacting.
