Thermafold 1000 Manual Bi-Fold Doors
Application

Designed for use in openings of up to 6000 mm wide and 6000 mm high, and particularly suitable for applications where a bottom track needs to be avoided, such as railway depots.

Description

The manually-operated, insulated bi-folding door has energy-saving qualities. It is designed for use in openings of up to 6000 mm wide and 6000 mm high, and is particularly suitable for applications where a bottom track needs to be avoided, such as railway depots. Its ease of operation allows the door to be manually-operated, unlike upward-moving doors such as sectional overheads and rolling shutters, particularly on larger openings.

The operation is simple and avoids the need for cables, springs, etc., thus avoiding high maintenance after installation. The door is sideways-opening, which means that the leading edge is in constant vision and less prone to damage from vehicles passing through the opening.

Features and benefits:

  • Door panels: constructed from double-skin steel sheets infilled with high-density insulating material. Panels are typically 40–65 mm thick, and are manufactured in various designs to suit clients’ individual requirements. Partially or fully-glazed versions are available.
  • Seals: high-quality ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) seals are fitted between the panels and at the jambs. Brush seals are fitted at the top and bottom.
  • Top track: galvanized steel inverted channel section, in which pulleys mounted on each leading edge run in and on.
  • Bottom support: the doors are supported on floor bearings mounted at the side, behind each jamb.
  • Door arrangements: the standard arrangement comprises a pair of panels on each side, folding at 90 degrees to the opening. Single panel or a 1+2 panel arrangement is also available, should side room be limited.
  • Ironmongery: espagnolette bars are fitted on the inside which, when operated, engage bolts into the top track and the floor. These bars are operable from inside only.
  • Operation: manual operation via handles attached to each leading edge.
