Description

Valsir Pexal® system is a multilayer piping solution engineered for potable water, heating, and cooling applications across residential, commercial, public, industrial and laboratory environments. It incorporates a durable five-layer structure consisting of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xb) inner and outer layers, bonded to a central aluminium alloy core, connected by a high-performance glue, offering excellent mechanical and thermal behaviour.

Pipe construction:

  • Inner layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xb).
  • Middle layer: Aluminium alloy (oxygen barrier).
  • Outer layer: Cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xb).

Performance characteristics:

  • High resistance to pressure, corrosion, and temperature variations.
  • Low thermal expansion and minimal pressure loss.
  • Durable, flexible structure for easy handling and installation.
  • Oxygen barrier core extends the lifespan of heating systems.

Fittings compatibility:

The Valsir Pexal system supports a complete range of WRAS-approved press and full-bore fittings, enabling scalable use across small and large-diameter installations:

  1. Pexal® Brass Fittings (Ø 16–90 mm):
    • Brass body with stainless steel sleeve.
    • Multi-profile compatibility: H, TH, U, C, VAL.
    • Leak-before-press detection.
    • Tamper-proof design for installation security.
  2. Bravopress® PPSU Fittings (Ø 16–63 mm):
    • Manufactured from PPSU technopolymer.
    • Highly resistant to chemicals and corrosion.
    • Multi-crimping compatibility and leak detection feature.
    • Tamper-proof.
  3. Pexal XL Modular Fittings (Ø 40–110 mm):
    • PPSU fittings for large-diameter pipes.
    • Lightweight and easy to install.
    • Ideal for limited-space applications.
  4. Pexal Easy Fittings (Ø 16–75 mm):
    • Technopolymer full-bore fittings.
    • Reusable, fast-connection design.
    • Designed for high flow and fast installation.

Installation features:

  • Compatible with commonly used pressing tools.
  • Flexible pipe coils simplify routing and reduce fittings.
  • Supports water testing prior to full commissioning.
  • Integrated leak detection for enhanced safety and quality assurance.

Pre-insulated pipe options:

  • Pre-insulated pipes available up to Ø 32 mm.
  • Available with red, blue, or grey PE outer jackets.
  • Fire-rated insulation: B-s1, d0 (EN 13501-1).
  • Insulation thicknesses: 6 mm to 25 mm.
  • Thermal conductivity: λ = 0.037 W/m·K.

Transition fittings:

To ensure maximum versatility and compatibility with existing systems, the Valsir Pexal range includes a comprehensive suite of transition fittings for a seamless connection to metal or mechanical installations:

  • Copper press fittings (M profile): secure press-fit connection with copper systems.
  • Copper compression fittings: traditional mechanical compression joints.
  • Copper valve adapters: transition fittings for direct connection to copper-bodied valves.
  • Welded copper tails: available straight or angled, also with chrome finish for radiator or visible connections.
  • Flanged fittings: for mechanical connections in plant rooms and industrial systems.
  • Threaded fittings:
    • Male and female threaded adapters.
    • Swivel female connections for easy coupling to existing components.
