Application

Permarock mineral fibre (EWI) systems are suitable for use above damp-proof course (DPC) level on buildings of dense or no-fines concrete, brickwork, blockwork, or suitably sheathed light steel frame or timber frame buildings, in any geographical location including those classified as having very severe exposure to wind-driven rain.

Suitable for residential and non-residential building types where the highest levels of fire safety and non-combustibility are required.

Permarock systems are only for installation by Permarock registered installers.

Description

High-performance mineral fibre external wall insulation (EWI) system comprising of non-combustible Euroclass A1 insulation, reinforced base coat and Dry Dash (pebbledash) finish. The system achieves Euroclass A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1).

PermaRock Mineral Fibre external wall insulation (EWI) systems are fire-safe, high-performance thermal insulation systems suitable for application to any building including relevant buildings as defined in the Building Regulations. Systems are suitable for use at any height and in proximity to any boundary.

PermaRock mineral fibre (EWI) systems can be applied onto walls of dense or no-fines concrete, brickwork, blockwork, or suitably sheathed light steel frame or timber frame construction, in any geographical location including those classified as having very severe exposure to wind-driven rain.

PermaRock Dry Dash provides a tough, durable, long-lasting and cost-effective finish for use with PermaRock EWI and PermaRend and PermaRock exterior render systems.

PermaRock Dry Dash comprises pre-washed and screened dashing aggregates (dashing-stones) which incorporate different types and colours of stones that are blended together and applied onto a specially formulated, self-coloured, polymer-enriched mineral-cement dash receiver, PermaRock Dashing Mortar (DM), which provides enhanced performance over traditional sand/cement renders.

PermaRock Dashing Mortar is a factory-batched, pre-coloured, dry-powder premix which requires mixing with water on site to produce a coloured dash-reciever. It is available in a range of standard colours; Grey, White, Yellow, Cream, Red and Pink. For other colours please contact PermaRock. Any colour of Permarock dashing mortar can be used with any dashing stone colour.

Features and benefits:

  • A2-s1,d0 reaction to fire classification (EN 13501-1).
  • No restrictions on proximity to boundaries.
  • Adhesively bonded and mechanically fixed insulation.
  • High resistance to wind loads.
  • Mechanically anchored reinforcement layer: Provides enhanced resistance to wind loading and additional structural stability in a fire.
  • High impact resistance.
  • Low embodied energy.
  • Thermal conductivity: 0.036–0.039 W/m·K (depending on insulation specified).
  • BRE Global Certificate No.158/12.
  • Any of the comprehensive range of graded dashing stones can be used with any shade of Permarock Dashing Mortar to achieve an attractive ‘pebble dash’ finish.
  • Ecopoints score of 0.10 (m²) - 'Excellent' rating.
  • Acoustic benefit over other insulant types.
  • Has a working design life of in excess of 30 years.
  • No restriction on brick slip colour. Here.

Design considerations:

  • U-value calculations can be carried out for each project to determine the thickness of insulation required to achieve particular thermal performance requirements.
  • For high-rise buildings, a wind load assessment should be carried out by a suitably qualified structural engineer and the results should be provided to PermaRock to enable an optimised fixing arrangement to be provided.
  • Contact us to discuss your proposed design to enable us to assist you in specifying the correct system and component parts.
  • Further information can be obtained from our Technical Hub

Beads and trims:

  • A full range of beads, trims, profiles and seals is available to enable the system to be interfaced with other building elements.
