Metal Fire-Rated Meter Over Box – R16 Range - Access Panels Meter Over Box

A 2 hour fire‑rated metal meter over box designed to provide fire compartmentation and secure access to electricity, gas and utility meters within wall constructions. The over box is surface‑mounted onto the wall structure and can be installed over new or existing meter apertures where fire performance is required.

The unit incorporates a metal door with concealed hinges, a 25 mm wide picture frame, and secure locking. It is suitable for internal wall applications where maintenance access to services is required. Panels beyond tested sizes are manufactured to the same construction principles and fire performance.

With a powder-coated RAL 9010 finish at 30% gloss finish, and a standard frame depth of 70 mm, this meter box is guaranteed to make an elegant addition to any chosen installation space. Bespoke frame depths are available upon customer request. The first dimension stated indicates the hinge side.

This panel has a fire test certificate up to 1070 x 650 mm in a wall application covered by fire certificate number 435047 tested in accordance with BS EN 1634-1 from the meter side (Rear). Anything above these sizes will be manufactured to the same construction as tested.

Installation

• Designed for surface mounting to structural wall membranes.
• Fix through pre‑drilled holes in the frame into suitable substrate.
• Apply intumescent sealant/strip to rear of frame where required to maintain fire performance.
• Installed over existing meter box opening; ensure meter remains accessible per electrical regulations.
