Maxiprufe Plus
Application

Suitable for use as a waterproofing and damp-proofing membrane for Type A basement constructions, up to grade 3 as defined in table 1 of BS 8102:2009. It provides a vapour and waterproof membrane in the construction of sub-structures providing protection against hydrostatic water pressure. An environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic liners, bituminous products and coatings.

Description

Maxiprufe Plus is a lightweight waterproofing membrane for use in a wide variety of applications. It is a needle-punched membrane impregnated with water absorbing and water swelling polymer coated with a polyethylene sheet.

The membrane is modified especially for the field of structural waterproofing as well as tunnel sealing. The self-healing properties of the hydrophilic, water reactive polymers secure the integrity of the structure, even if the polyethylene membrane is damaged during installation or backfilling. As water penetrates it causes the polymers to swell and creates an impermeable barrier. The building structure is permanently protected against penetrating water.

Features and benefits:

  • Tough and resistant, quick and easy to install, high compound shear strength.
  • Can be installed in every season, independent of temperature and weather conditions.
  • No need for complicated welding equipment and specially trained personnel.
  • Self-healing due to the activated swelling polymers.
  • Seals small cracks in the concrete by the pressure of the swelling polymer.
  • Can be optimized for salt-water usage.
  • Easy handling due to being lightweight (approximately 500 g/m²).

Applications:

Suitable for use as a waterproofing and damp-proofing membrane for Type A basement constructions, up to grade 3 as defined in table 1 of BS 8102:2009. It provides a vapour and waterproof membrane in the construction of sub-structures providing protection against hydrostatic water pressure.
