Description

The Knauf GIFAfloor DB Green system is a sustainable raised access flooring solution designed for office and commercial environments. Manufactured from low-carbon gypsum fibre panels, it provides high structural performance while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Material Composition & Construction

DB Green panels are made from homogeneous gypsum fibre elements, produced with:

  • Minimum 70–80% recycled content
  • No plastic, steel, or timber components

Unlike traditional raised floor panels, DB Green is manufactured without ABS edge bands, resulting in a completely flat surface with a bevelled edge finish.

This construction simplifies recycling at end of life and allows the seamless installation of loose-laid textile coverings such as carpet tiles.

DB Green is designed primarily to receive loose-laid carpet tiles, making it ideal for office environments. Where hard or continuous finishes are required, the Knauf GIFAfloor FHB T&G System on pedestals should be specified. Both systems can be installed side by side, creating a unified raised floor solution from a single manufacturer.

Subfloor preparation

Prime the unfinished floor surface.

Guidance for specification option:

  • The substrate must have the minimum load-bearing capacity for the load transfer via the raised floor pedestals. The substrate must be solid, dry, and free of separating agents such as bitumen, oils or paints.
  • Sweep and vacuum the unfinished floor thoroughly.
  • Prime the unfinished floor surface, e.g. with suitable PVA based sub floor sealer.
