Application

A highly effective acoustic treatment for separating floors / ceilings thanks to its combination of high quality sound insulating products, suitable for use in new build or refurbishment projects using timber joists.

Description

A fully developed economical sound insulation system between separating floors. As a fully tested system, HD1017 Hush Acoustics System HF25 allows architects to specify with the confidence that it will deliver on its acoustic performance. Product data sheets can be found in the ‘literature’ section below.

 

Its combination of high quality sound insulating products provides a highly effective acoustic treatment for separating floors / ceilings.


Key to its performance are the multiple layers it utilises along with Hush Felt 25 Resilient Strip and Hush Slab 100 sound absorber.


As a fully tested system, HD1017 allows architects to specify with the confidence that it will deliver on its acoustic performance.


And it is fully compliant with all the relevant UK Building Regulations - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland).


Installation process:


  • Hush Felt 25 Resilient Strip is stapled to the joist tops on which an 18mm tongued and grooved flooring grade chipboard is glued using Hush-Bond.
  • A 19mm plasterboard plank is overlaid with a further layer of 18mm tongued and grooved flooring grade chipboard above, with all perimeters sealed using Hush-Seal 20.
  • Hush Slab 100 is fitted between the joists and Hush-Bar Plus System is screw fixed to the underside of joists at 450mm centres.
  • 2x layers of 15mm Soundbloc board are then secured to Hush-Bar System, and all perimeters are sealed prior to skimming.

  • 19 mm thick plasterboard plank - supplied by others.

  • Hush Bond - to glue joints.
  • Hush Seal 20 - to seal perimeters.
  • Hush Felt 25 - stapled to joist tops.
  • Timber joists - supplied by others.
  • Hush Slab 100 - fitted between the joists.
  • Hush Bar Plus - screw fixed to the underside of joists at 450 mm centres.
  • 19 mm thick Gyproc plasterboard plank - supplied by others.
  • 12.5 mm thick Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard - supplied by others.
