Application

For use in new build or refurbishment projects using timber joists.

Description

HD1020 Hush System IC is a fully developed economical sound insulation system between separating floors, an excellent way to acoustically upgrade separating floors and ceilings constructed using timber joists.

Perfect for new build, refurbishment or conversion, this fully tested system creates a separate suspended ceiling using hangers attached to the existing joists, a method that breaks sound transmission paths. The voids are in-filled with Hush Slab 100 sound absorber to ensure airborne and impact noise is minimised.

HD1020 complies with all the UK Building Regulations relating to sound insulation in buildings - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Part G (Northern Ireland) and Section 5 of the Technical Standards in Scotland.

Installation process:

  • Hush Panel 28, installed with all tongue and groove joints glued using Hush Bond, laid over Hush 10 Joist Strips, secured to joist tops as per manufacturers instructions, with all perimeters sealed using Hush Seal 20.
  • Independent ceiling joists attached on hangers, with Hush Slab 100 fitted between.
  • Two layers of 12.5mm Gyproc Soundbloc plasterboard secured to the underside of the ceiling joists. All perimeters are then sealed prior to skimming.

Application:

Sound insulation system between separating floors.
