A waterproof, low emissivity, highly reflective insulating breather membrane for use externally on buildings which are sited in very severe, exposed locations aligned to STA Advice Note 18.
Low emissivity insulating breather membrane for use on the cold side of insulation to enhance the thermal performance of external timber frame walls, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels and steel frame construction. Designed for use externally on buildings which are sited in harsh environments where it is recommended that membranes with Class W1 water penetration are used.
Protect Thermo Extreme is a waterproof, low emissivity, highly reflective insulating breather membrane which enhances the thermal performance of timber frame walls, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels and steel frame construction.
Designed for use externally on buildings in locations which are typically high altitude, open to high winds and on westerly coastal sites in England, Ireland, Wales and Scotland, where a Class W1 water penetration resistance is recommended. Used on the cold side of the insulation.
Protect Thermo Extreme has been developed from the tried and tested Protect TF200 Thermo range and additionally utilises microporous film and microperforation technology.
Produced in the UK of five ply construction, Protect Thermo Extreme’s innovative design provides a highly reflective yet vapour permeable surface which protects the outer sheathing from moisture and ensures the water vapour passes into the external wall cavity. When installed with the foil facing into an unventilated airspace, this provides enhanced thermal performance by effectively blocking infra-red radiation, helping to deliver a low overall U-value of the wall.
