Description

Natural twin flap roof ventilator, suitable for natural day to day ventilation and smoke control, for high aerodynamic, acoustic, airtightness and thermal performance. Tested to and in compliance with EN 12101-2 and CE marked. Classified as fall through resistant when closed in 300J & 1200J impact tests. Manufactured under the ISO 9001 quality standard.

Standard product features

Frame:

Manufactured from corrosion resistant aluminium alloy 6063-T6 alloy, with stainless steel fixings. Hinges are from stainless steel and aluminium. The frames of both the base and flap are thermally broken.

Five different seals are used to reduce air leakage when closed.

Its performance varies with size and options selected (tests to EN 12101-2):

  • Aerodynamic coefficient: up to 0.68.
  • Reliability: RE 1000 (10,000 cycles).
  • Wind load: up to 8977 N/m².
  • Snow load: up to 6947 N/m².
  • Resistance to heat: B300.
  • Low ambient temperature operation: T(00) / T(-15).
  • Materials resistance to fire: E (to BS EN 13501-1).
  • U value: up to 0.52 W/m²K.
  • Air permeability: Class 4.
  • Water tightness: Class 9A.
  • Resistance to wind load: Class 5C.
  • Sound insulation: up to 49 dB R’w.

Product Options

Flaps:

  • Double or triple glazed: 28, 30 or 32 mm overall thickness (max. 50 mm) or customer specified (up to 60 kg/m²).
  • Polycarbonate: 16 or 25 mm overall thickness or customer specified (from 16 up to 50 mm), either clear or opaque.
  • Infill panel: as standard a 2 mm thick aluminium external sheet, 21 mm thick infill with a mass of 30 kg/m2 and heat transfer of 0.03 W/m.K, 2 mm thick internal sheet. 25 mm overall thickness as standard, from 16 mm to 50 mm possible.
  • Noise reduction panel, multi-layer system to achieve up to 49 dB R’w.

Finish:

Mill finish, polyester powder coated to a RAL colour, or a special colour coating.

Controls:

Either pneumatic (for smoke and day to day ventilation) or 24V DC linear drive electric (for smoke and day to day ventilation). Either double-action locking or failsafe open mechanisms. Bracket controls (for smaller vents and/or those installed into glazing) or control channel controls (for larger vents and/or heavier lids or need to keep actuator lengths short).
