Application

For use as a fire shutter without following air duct with cover grilles for closing ventilation openings in fire separating walls, constructions, elevator and other shafts, cable and other ducts, preventing the spread of heat and combustion products.
For use as a multi blade fire damper with following air duct on both sides (without cover grilles) or with duct on one side (with one cover grille), preventing the spread of heat and combustion products through this duct system.
Suitable for installation in solid wall construction, gypsum wall construction and solid ceiling construction.

Description

A Fire Damper is used to prevent fire and reduce smoke spreading from one compartment to another through the air ductwork system which may penetrate fire separating walls and floors.

Duct connection	Mandik FFDM breakaway joint. Guidance for specification option: FFDM allows a breakaway connection between a duct and fire damper according to DW/145. The FFDM is a flanged breakaway joint with a plastic pad which will melt at 80°C, allowing the duct to break away from the damper and ensure the dampers integrity is maintained. Refer to FFDM – Technical specifications for options and insert requirements. Breakaway joint (supplied by others). Guidance for specification option: Insert requirements. Manufacturer guidance Breakaway joints are a required accessory for the fire dampers. These joints are required on both sides of the damper.
