The construction of nine one bedroom apartments at Journeaux Court, St Helier, has bolstered the accommodation available within the Social Housing Sector on Jersey. Jersey States Housing Minister Deputy, Andrew Green, stated that they are very pleased with the completed project & pleased that the design of the apartments and roofing areas aesthetically blend in with the buildings in the surrounding area. Jersey States Property Architects specified the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN/ALKORDESIGN Charcoal single-ply membrane due to its : • aesthetically pleasing colour • A+ Environmental Green Guide BREEAM rating • (BBA Life Expectancy in excess of 40 Years)

During the initial meeting with the architect it was found not copper green but copper brown was chosen to match the existing. The project would also have 2 extensions/phases at different stages. During 1st phase, the decision to carry on with the second phase was made. All existing contractors were nominated to carry out the 2nd phase. During all works on phases 1 and 2, contact was kept with the architect and was informed that decision was made to re-roof the existing buildings. All works were carried out successfully.

Funded by North Lincolnshire Council, Yorkshire Forward and Sport England, the £21m Pods and Central Park project will become a sporting centre of excellence. The unique five domed design comprises of pods finished in a range of materials, each contributing to the development’s remit to blend into the park landscape. Each dome is waterproofed using the RENOLIT ALKORPLAN system and whilst the complex is thought to be the UK’s largest timber-built geodesic project, it also demonstrates possibly the most innovative use of single ply membrane ever seen in the UK.
