Fire safety in the heart of Chester! Check out this case study where a strong mix of Nullifire's market-leading passive fire protection solutions were used in this exciting project in Chester City Centre.

Designed to provide 240,000 sq. ft of Grade A commercial space over ground and thirteen upper floors, an iconic building located in the heart of developing city Birmingham utilises a range of Nullifire passive fire protection products to ensure that its complex fire strategy is achieved.

To ensure the safety of students, Sharpfibre Limited installed passive fire protection via Nullifire products. The intumescent paint Nullifire SC902 was applied in order to protect the outer steel structure from the potential effects of the fire. Thanks to its high coverage potential, the option of applying the required thickness in a single application, and its fast curing, the Nullifire SC902 was able to significantly accelerate the project process.

Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the new Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) in Athens has created homes for the National Library of Greece and Greek National Opera, which include a 1,400-seat auditorium. With significant steel structures involved, Nullifire SC902 Fast Track, On-Site Intumescent Steel Coating was used extensively to provide passive fire protection.

This student residence hosts the capicity to house students as well as offering 380m2 of office space. In order to comply with passive fire protection requirements Nullifire recommended the use of FB750 fireproof panels, FS702 flame retardant acrylic sealant, On-Site Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC801, and On-Site, Water-Based Intumescent Basecoat SC802. The combination of these products provided all of the necessary safety measures for occupants in case of a fire.

Following the building expansion of more than 47,000 m2 the grade-II listed Stanford Hall Estate facility required further fire protection measures to be installed in order to reset its resistance to fire. Nullifire were on hand to recommend the use of FB750 Coated Batts, FS702 Water-Based Intumescent Acrylic Sealant, and FS709 Intumescent Sealant. The combination of these products ensures the fire safety of the building.

One of Scotland’s most famous whisky distilleries is undergoing an ambitious redevelopment project in order to meet increased demand from overseas. The steelwork for the new build elements of the work are being given fire protection using Nullifire’s revolutionary new one coat intumescent SC902 system.

With a staggering 81 floors and an approximate height of 270 metres, world renowned Landmark 81 is the tallest building in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam fire protected by Nullifire.

Using products like FB750 (Intubatt) and FS702 (Intumastic) – the striking new development allowed for GRJ Contracting to use the complete passive fire protection offering from Nullifire. A representative at GRJ Contracting commented, “All products and services provide by Nullifire during this project were brilliant and allowed us to provide the highest standard of fire protection required by the main contractor.”

he vibrant Malasaña neighborhood of Madrid blends cafes, restaurants, and nightlife. Its narrow streets and old-city architecture are a haven for students and young professionals. A globally recognized energy drink brand would fit right in.But before they could do so, there was work to do: the complete renovation of an existing five-story building.At street level, 13 Calle Hernan Cortes deceives passersby. The building is as narrow as its neighbors, but it stretches the depth of its block and contains 2,600 square meters (28,000 square feet) of occupied space.Formerly housing the Madrid College of Industrial Engineers, the structure was vacant and essentially hollow when architecture firm yyplusplus got to work.The firm's objective was to utilize the building's abundance of open spaces while also providing furnishings and partitions that would make the building suitable for the work of 150 employees.But yyplusplus could not stop at a renovated floor plan and new furnishings. The space would look like an office, but it wouldn't feel or sound like one.That's because the structure's prior use as an engineering college did not emphasize acoustic insulation. If that wasn't included in this renovation, the offices would be noisy. yyplusplus knew an insulative material was essential, and they insisted that it looked as good as it performed.

Contractors building new offices and warehouses in Staffordshire have used Nullifire’s SC902 to complete the passive fire protection of the exposed steel frames successfully despite harsh winter conditions. Main contractor, McLaren Construction, is building the new Redhill Business Park in Stafford for Staffordshire County Council. The 40-acre greenfield site comprises seven plots earmarked for industrial, manufacturing and warehousing development.

To comply with passive fire protection requirements, Nullifire worked with trusted contactor Protek Interiors to install both SC602 Intumescent Base Coat (On-Site) and SC802 Water Based Intumescent Base Coat (On-Site) to this 2500m2 project. The combination of these projects worked well given the challenging circumstances and allowed for Protek Interiors to fully adhere to the fire strategy of the building.

The construction of the new Technology and Innovation Centre – or TIC – at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland has graphically illustrated the specification and application benefits of Nullifire’s new generation intumescent coating, SC902.
