Commercial Composite Decking Case Study - Coventry University Roof Terrace

Millboard Company Ltd, The

After testing Millboard in situ for six months, where it passed the test for anti-slip and hassle-free maintenance, Coventry University asked their landscape architects, Plincke, to incorporate Millboard into their space design. As the university is in a built-up, urban area, there was little recreation space for students and staff, with limited space at ground level to create parks or gardens. The Millboard collection’s versatility made it ideal for Plincke’s innovative roof terrace design. The final result is a stunning, all-weather space in the heart of the city.

The Penny Hill Park Hotel is a luxurious, five-star retreat with a renowned spa and stunning outdoor pool area. As part of the spa revamp, the hotel wanted to replace their existing poolside decking with an alternative that could resist damage from chlorine and moisture while providing a safe environment for guests to enjoy the surrounds. Thanks to its unbeatable non-slip and anti-porous credentials, the hotel chose the Enhanced Grain collection for beside the pool and LastaGrip – which offers our highest anti-slip rating– for steps and slopes, where extra grip is needed, especially when wet.

A Harmony of Innovation, Sustainability and Design with Millboard Enhanced Grain DeckingIn the heart of South Kensington, London, the Natural History Museum’s Urban Nature Project is a pioneering initiative that redefines how we connect with the natural world in the urban landscape. This remarkable transformation of the Museum’s five-acre gardens into a living laboratory and public green space is a tribute to British innovation, sustainable design, and ecological responsibility. As part of this broader vision, Millboard Enhanced Grain Decking in Burnt Cedar was chosen for key walkway areas of the garden—providing a practical, visually appealing, hard-wearing and low-maintenance surface that supports the project’s goals of accessibility and long-term environmental responsibility.
