Humble Pizza by Child Studio, London

A nostalgic reimagining of 1950s café design has been made possible by Formica® laminate, which projects a beautifully cinematic look in the iconic Kings Road. ‘Humble Pizza’ is a vegan pizza eatery in Chelsea, blending in perfectly with a boutique-lined street synonymous with British fashion. The space is a muted gender-neutral pink – both instantly iconic and soft.
Bespoke furniture created for Sense Hub

Design studio Dual Works were commissioned by UK-based Sense Charity to design, make and install a suite of tailor-made furniture to transform three spaces into distinct environments for the different services that Sense offers to support its community. The project involved furniture with multiple approaches in terms of their use and functionality alongside a cohesive visual identity. Dual Works worked with each team to determine their priorities which has resulted in a playful children’s area, a professional workspace and a creative studio.

Laminate was chosen to create kitchen doors, shelves, worktops and even an accessible spice rack and a matching dining table. All decors chosen featured a Matte58 finish offering a smooth texture that provides low-level light reflection and minimal maintenance for the owner.

The Ronald McDonald House charity provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families while their child is in hospital and often offers places for the children to play with custom made play areas. In 2018, the Leiden house opened the new play area next to the LUMC hospital, which features furniture fabricated using Formica Laminate from the main collection.
